Today we’d like to introduce you to Moustapha Ndiaye.
An artist by heart, Moustapha holds a degree in Finance from California State University of Northridge. With a disciplinary attitude gained while playing NCAA Division 1 soccer, Moustapha is a designer, hat maker and jewelry designer, who draws inspiration from artist like Rick Owens and Bob Marley. Born and raised in Senegal, West Africa, Moustapha holds a rich cultural history that has guided his artistic spirit, love for traveling culture and music while running the day to day business operations at Renaissance Creative Studios.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most small businesses our main struggles are access to capital to grow our business, buy machinery and to hire the necessary help. Operating cashflow.
Please tell us about Renaissance Creative Studios (RCSLA).
Renaissance Creative Studios is a Los Angeles based high quality design factory. Incorporated in the design studios of the RCS brand, creative founders Moustapha Ndiaye and Baba Jagne provide quality garment manufacturing services for an array of clients. By combining art, technique and intelligent pricing, designers Moustapha and Baba provide full service sample and apparel pattern making production management with no minimum requirements. Expert tailors, sample makers and production managers under one roof provide clients with transparent access to the end-to-end design development of their line. Inspired by the communal creative sewing studios from the founder’s apparel upbringing, RCS has recreated an innovative space to develop ideas, patterns, samples, custom designs or full development packages in a creative, fun and ethical workspace.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Playing soccer in the streets in Senegal and behind with my family.
