Meet Mouse Rawk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mouse Rawk.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Los Angeles, California in 1987 into a family of artists. My early influences stem from my father who was an architect/artist and mother who was a watercolorist. I’ve been creating and studying art independently since childhood. Having spent some of my early years living in Botswana, Africa, the culture and heritage heavily influenced my artistry. At age 12, a close friend Chase introduced me to graffiti art and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve always been inspired by creative expression in the public eye and feel it plays an important role in every community. My work combines an urban style with abstract compositions often consisting of vibrant colors with a balance of line work. My work serves as a presentation rather than an interpretation. I’m constantly exploring new ideas and techniques while pushing the artistic envelope. My mediums consist of spray paint, acrylics, pen, and ink.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve had a lot of ups and downs along the way in my artistic journey. I first started selling my art on the streets and have since transitioned to painting large scale murals and have sold my work in galleries and various art shows. I’ve learned from my struggles through a trial and error process and wouldn’t change anything as they’ve gotten me to where I’m at today. I’m extremely grateful for the lessons my craft has taught me in my business and personal life.

Please tell us more about your art.
I’m a painter and abstract artist specializing in murals and installations. Right now, I’m focusing on painting large scale commercial and private murals. I’m generally contracted to paint specific walls to elevate the value in a business or home. I’m known for my large scale murals and conceptual paintings. As a company, I’m most proud of providing a unique service to my clients to help modify their desired space. Taking a blank wall and creating something out of nothing is something that is rewarding and fun to be apart of.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking to travel more this year and paint as many walls as possible. I want to really push myself and tackle as many projects while exploring new styles.
