Today we’d like to introduce you to Moshe Lewis.

Moshe Lewis

Hi Moshe, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a physician and journalist, I have been fascinated with ways to inspire people to take their health seriously. One of my friends recommended that I start doing a podcast and use social media to talk to musicians. Given my background in music which includes playing the piano as a child and my training as a doctor, the concept of Music and Medicine took shape.

My journey as a pianist began under the tutelage of my adopted mother, Ruby Clausell. Talent, family, friends and hard work took me to the prestigious Cami Hall in New York City, where I performed in captivating recitals and piano competitions. I further honed my skills at the renowned Julliard School of Music and later pursued Pre-Med Studies at Cornell University, all while continuing to mesmerize audiences with piano performances. While in NY, I became involved in the performing arts, singing and dancing at esteemed institutions like the Metropolitan Opera, The New York City Opera, and the Bolshoi Ballet.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Taking a concept, a dream or a goal to reality is full of potholes. Scheduling, logistics and marketing are constantly a juggle and a struggle. However, I am delighted at all the amazing guests my team and I have been able to catch up with in person. In addition, we have been blessed to have met publicists, managers and agents who have gone out of their way to move our project forward.

“Music and Medicine” has already featured a lineup of remarkable guests, including music industry icons such as Dionne Warwick, Gerald Albright, Shanice, Mindi Abair, Freda Payne, Marilyn McCoo, Larry Dunn, and Leon Sylvers III to name just a few. In addition, I am constantly trying to reach out to Indie artists and those who are up-and-coming. My goal is always to highlight artists, their stories and their health triumphs

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I graduated from Mount Sinai Medical School in New York and fulfilled a residency training program in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, where I served as chief resident. I also completed a year of training in Otolaryngology at Charles Drew Medical Center. I love students and teaching and have been a volunteer clinical faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco as well as the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Medically my goals are to help patients understand how to take care of themselves and get timely treatment when they are ill as well as prevent injuries. What sets me apart is that I spend time with patients and really try to listen to them.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
As a journalist, I enjoy letting artists share their truth and their experiences in detail. I believe the greatest quality that has led to my success is being a good listener.
