Meet Morgan Ashley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Ashley.

Morgan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started with passion for music and how it creates connections. Inspired by fascinating vocalists such as Whitney Houston, Brandy, Mariah Carey, and Toni Braxton. I was amazed how these artists connected with their fans through their music and their voices, it inspired me to want to do just that. Sitting in my room listening to music, I could feel what they were expressing through their songs.

Felt like each song I heard had the right word to speak how I would feel at certain times. Thinking back to those moments, I know through creating an ‘I know what you’re going through’ connection is what motivated me to want to be a singer.

As an artist, I strive to build that same connection through my music and I believe that creating a unity through music as my focus is where it brought me today. Through that universal connection, I want to spread love, laughter, and joy. Singing not only brings me joy, but it makes me happy when I can bring that “I feel you” type of vibe to an audience listening.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the struggles along the way was making sure people hear my voice and take it for what it is. Not try to modify it into a 2.0 version of something that has already been done. The successful formula to “making it” in this music industry varies, there isn’t one way to “make it” because everyone’s journey is different. There will always be someone out there who will judge me or compare me in what I do or how I do things when it comes to my music. But that is just it, it is my music. To try and place me in a box or compare me with another artist, or try to make me into a duplicate of an artist whom already has their branding is a limitation, and that applies to artists in general.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
What I do with and specialize in when it comes to my music is creating an atmosphere where people feel connected in a sense to where they are not alone. If anything, I want to specialize in being the music people want to play during times of happiness, motivation, sadness, peace. I want to be there throughout all the rollercoaster of emotions that life brings to table.

What I am most proud of as a singer is not letting the rough roads of this music business deter me from pursuing music as my career. I believe music is a force that can bring people together in a positive way and to let the business side of it ruin that aspect for me would be disheartening. I am thankful and proud that I am not deterred to keep from wanting to pursue music.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Having a humbling and loving support system, continuous studying and growth of my craft, and making sure there is time set aside for daily meditation of positive affirmations is important to my success.
