Meet Molly Taylor of Taylor Digital Marketing in Redondo Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Taylor.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
A few years ago I began helping my husband post content to his social media platforms for his business. That led to me editing his weekly newsletter, posting it to his website and amplifying it out to his social pages. At that time he also started doing videos and I’d set those up on his YouTube channel and website, making sure they were formatted correctly and had the right tags. I found that I loved doing these things, it was like putting a puzzle together! In December of 2015 I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own digital marketing business.

I began this new career with what turned out to be a pretty big job. I was hired by the Manhattan Beach 10K Run to assist them with increasing their number of registrations, driving awareness and participation of the Millennial market and reduce overall marketing spend.

I designed and built a modern mobile-ready website and email newsletter, created a digital footprint by formatting new and existing social media accounts, and finally planned and executed upon both a content and social media advertising strategy.

This resulted in: +20% in race registrations, -50% in traditional ad spending, -10% in marketing spend and +29,000 web visits in just a few months. Because of this great success with the MB10K, word has spread and I’ve been working for several small businesses in the South Bay who want similar results.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Taking that first job with the MB10K involved a huge learning curve for me so that was tough at times. I had to ensure that I was super organized and was managing my time well. I wanted to knock it out of the park and make things perfect. I had to force myself to take breaks, turn my brain off from focusing on the work, and remove myself from my desktop to keep from constantly seeing how registrations were coming along and how the social posts were doing. Needless to say, I was a little obsessed!

The great part about this project were the people involved with the race. They were supportive, excited about what I was doing and very easy to work with. I appreciated this immensely!

Taylor Digital Marketing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The name says it all – Taylor Digital Marketing. My goal is to help small businesses who either don’t have the technical know-how or perhaps don’t have the time to market themselves digitally.

I offer website services – site planning, wire framing, website building & email list building.

I offer blogging services – posting on a website, making content look great, video posting, sharing to social media & management reporting.

I offer newsletter services – production help & management reporting

I also offer social media services – management of different platforms, management reporting, and Facebook advertising

I feel that what sets my business apart is that I treat each business that I’m working with as if it were my own. I truly care and want the work that I put out to benefit the client and increase their business.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by making sure I’ve accomplished what I said I was going to do. Did I deliver on what I projected, is the client pleased, are positive results happening because of my efforts? Pretty simple but easy to gauge.
