Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Cunningham.
Molly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I spent my childhood in my aunt’s hair shop. Prior to my mom passing away I would walk to “The Shop” when I was in the third grade and be there all day, waiting for my aunt to take me home when my mom arrived from Dialysis. I would spend countless hours in the hair salon, sweeping up hair and gradually shampooing the client’s hair. In between breaks, I would look at the magazine catalogs that were delivered and quickly took interest to the models. The women clients would talk about which garments they really liked, how it would look on them and if they were going to proceed to buy from the then famous lingerie Brand.
I later realized that women weren’t as happy with the items when they arrived because they ordered based on how the piece(s) looked on a model with a completely different body type. As time progressed, I became infatuated with lingerie, quickly saw the problem and wanted to fix it. I knew that if I could find women with diverse body images who look similar to the consumers then it would make things easier on both ends. I later decided to devote my all to Sultry Limb and make lingerie vibrant and conducive for everyday wear. Sultry means Sensual yet Sporty and Limb means to take risk, which is how I developed the name Sultry Limb.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The development of Sultry Limb has been though. I’ve had horrible experiences with the delay in manufacturing, orders not making it on time, and the process of having new designs made that didn’t resonate with consumers.
Sultry Limb – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sultry Limb is an e-commerce lingerie line specializing in refined, alluring and comfortable garments. There are no boundaries between inner and outer garments. Our focus is to accommodate women’s daily needs at home relaxing, in an office setting or hanging out with friends. As a company, we are most proud of our diverse models and variety of sizes ranging from Small to 3x- Large.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood was going to the salon every day after school to help my aunt at her hair salon and earning money to purchase my school clothes and other personal items that I needed throughout the year.
