Meet Mo Bedford of Mo Length in Miracle Mile/ Culver City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mo Bedford.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
2016. I told my husband “this hair I bought is really good!” My husband said to me “why don’t you sell it?”. I originally declined, I thought I had a good job and was finally in position where I was working one job. Which I prayed for. My husband bugged me for a month, and I finally gave in. I started with my friends and family. I figured this will be a side hustle and I can have this online business selling hair. It didn’t quite work out as planned. My consumers demanded a delivery service, and that’s what I had to give them.

Mo Length supplies our clients with premium quality hair extensions, closures, and frontals made from 100% real virgin hair. We love when our clients experiment with their look and knowing how important hair is to most women, we aim to create an environment that empowers and encourages women to own their look and live their life.

Today I have two locations, my own shampoo & conditioner line and recently launched my latest product, which is a wig lace adhesive.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My second son was born December 2017 and that’s when things really began to happen for the better. While on maternity leave, I decided to open a storefront. March 2018, I signed the lease for my storefront. At that time, my second son is now three months old and decides he won’t take a bottle. No one shared with me that when nursing a baby, there’s a possibility that the baby won’t take a bottle. I couldn’t leave my baby with anyone and if I did, I couldn’t be gone longer than 2 hours, just before his next feeding. At this point, I’m determined to really grow business because now I have this baby who won’t take a bottle and I’m soon due back to my full-time job from maternity leave. I went into overdrive and would take my baby with me to my shop, as well as on deliveries with me. He got to know all of my clients.

In the midst of me trying to grow my business and take care of my second son who needed to nurse every 2 hours. I lost myself, I lost self-confidence as a woman and it was a not so fun time. I made a comeback and I have never been so ready to concur anything brought my way. I learned that self confidence is the most powerful quality that one can have! I am now very powerful!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mo Length LLC – what should we know?
