Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitra Pakdaman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Mitra. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my journey with the passion for design, creativity, and art since childhood.
I got my bachelor in interior design from the California State University of Northridge, worked for large companies on projects such as Walt Disney, ESPN, Equinox, ESPN.
As years passed by, I felt I really like interior design but something is missing in my heart. I did a lot of work within, and I realized that I have a huge passion for medical.
Before Interior Design, I was studying for Dental School but I never saw myself to stay in one place all day and I honestly have so much respect for all the dentists, however, my creativity for design took over at that time.
Years later, I could still feel the passion of medical in my heart so I decided to combine the two passion of mine (Interior Design & Medical) and that’s how my company (LA Healthcare Design) was born on Jan of 2015.
When I started, people would ask me what do you do? and my answer was I specialized in “Interior design for medical spaces, I am a healthcare interior designer”… the reactions were … oh… we didn’t know there is such an expertise exist….
First I got afraid that what did I do! did I make a right decision? however, that It didn’t take that long that I started getting clients like Kaiser, Top Plastic Surgeons in Beverly Hills, UCLA, and more…. I am humbled and grateful to this journey, it’s been awesome and I am truly committed to creating healing spaces around the world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Entrepreneurial world is similar to the world of a professional surfer, always there is a wave/challenge. However, it’s up to the person how to translate it and face it. Staying on top of each wave is an art and takes practices and lots of falling.
I can choose to be stressed out all the time or use it as an opportunity to become better leader and creator. I practice to choose the second option and I love it, would not exchange it for anything else.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with LA Healthcare Design – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
LA healthcare Design specializes in Medical and healthcare interior Design.
We are committed to creating healing spaces what that means:
We start by being very selective about choosing our clients, we want to make sure that we are aligned with the same purpose and we can deliver our best to them
Once we decided to start the design journey together, the first step is creating “Core Story” and this is based on capturing client’s vision and dreams. We come up with a Mood board/core story. This is based on Simon Sinek / Golden Circle / Ted Talk, simply he say’s once your “Why” is clear your “How” (Space planning) and “What” (Materials) follows it in a beautiful and effective way and we translate it to our every design in order to create healing and magical space.
The following steps are developing and expanding on “How” = Space Planning & “What” = Materials
The final part which we call it, icing on the cake which I heard it from someone and really resonate it with me, is furniture, arts, decoration.
What sets us apart is our vision for design and it’s all about our clients, we have a simple approach towards delivering interior design and creating a simple space to a healing and magical one.
We offer 3 packages:
-Complete Design Package
-Essential Package
-Basic Package
Each shows how much they want us to involve with their project from interior design, design management and execution
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our next step is to do design around the world which already started, we want to be able to give more love, awesome design and create more healing medical spaces around the world.
Also, one of my big passion is speaking and sharing our mission and experience medical practitioner to help them to choose the right space, best designer and create an awesome space for their patient and staff which I am a huge believer: How they say happy wife, happy life, I believe happy staff, happy business… so I love to share my past clients and my experiences with them to say how important that is to create a mindful and healing space.
