Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitch Silberman.
Mitch grew up as a successful child actor in the 1970’s, appearing in commercials and movies as well as episodes of Bewitched, Gunsmoke, The F.B.I., and the Mod Squad. However, due to the lack of a strategic wealth plan, his childhood earnings were not invested. As a result, what was once a sizable bank account dissipated.
He majored in math in high school, received his accounting degree in college, then passed the CPA exam. He has devoted his three-decades long financial services career to helping people make intelligent choices with their money and to avoid common, costly mistakes.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Biggest challenge the last several years has been the rapidly accelerating regulatory burdens being imposed on our industry. Many of these ‘improvements’ actually hurt the very people (Clients and advisors) they purport to help.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Silberman Wealth Strategies story. Tell us more about the business.
We are in the peace of mind business, and do all we can to overwhelm our clients with service and communication. Our clients trust us with growing, preserving and passing on their wealth, and this is accomplished with the personal touch of caring deeply about them, their families and causes. The critical factors for successful investing are faith, patience and discipline, and therefore clients need to plan and invest such that their money outlives them instead of them outliving your money. I have learned that there is no such thing as a financial planning emergency, rather most emergencies arise from a lack of financial planning. I am a goal-focused and planning-driven advisor in a culture that will always be market-focused and performance-driven.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The harder I work, the luckier I get. I’ve been fortunate and am humbled to be able to play a valued role in helping my clients achieve all that is most important to them.
