Meet Mindy Nguyen of K&B Patio Furniture in Santa Ana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mindy Nguyen.

Mindy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started working in the furniture industry in the 90’s. As a warehouse worker, I would use my earnings to purchase scratch and dent furniture and bring it to the flea markets for a profit. Over time I was able to earn enough to begin establishing a relationship within the industry that allowed me to manufacture my own brand. It took time and hard work, and I while I am proud of my achievements, I know I am fortunate for my hard work to have been rewarded. Today we retail our furniture locally and online nationally, reaching markets we never could have imagined when I first began.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. In the beginning, it was very difficult to get started. It was especially difficult to figure out when the right time was to stop working in a steady job. As the business grew—and even now as it is growing, additional challenges present themselves.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a manufacturer and wholesale distribution company of residential patio furniture. I am most proud of my staff’s work and how we have been able to attain a degree of success considering our humble beginnings. There are a few things that set us apart from others. A few examples is our work ethic. We are very customer-centric. The second is the quality of our products. We offer our customers a higher-quality product than many manufacturers on the market, and our customers understand that and value the difference.
