Meet Miles Woods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Woods.

Hi Miles, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born in Wichita, Kansas to Dennison and Sheilah Woods March 9th, 1994.

Raised in Inglewood, CA from ages 1-6 then relocated to Bakersfield from ages 6-18.

Attended Laurelglen Elementary, Tevis Jr. High and Stockdale High School. – In high school I was the first-ever male cheerleader and colorguard member in the schools history

Growing up I had an extreme passion for music and dance that led me to being in various school plays, singing competitions, dance groups and stepping into what became a bright future in the arts.

After high school I moved back to Wichita to attend college at 17 years old — my older sister introduced her unique group of friends that opened my eyes to nightlife. Although at the time I was underage my newly found friends shared engaging work stories from “Jezebel’s, a legendary establishment that closed permanently.

Once I was old enough I would take my friends to and from the club after school and cheer. If I had time I would complete schoolwork inside the club’s VIP section and watch my friends dance the day away. My friends Batista and Entyce were the best dancers at the club with two different styles that I merged into one. Seductive and sensual came from Batista while showstopping skills and splits derived from Entyce. As of today I still have yet to see dancers come close to my experiences in Jezebels.

They taught me as much as they could while they could and I ran… ran as fast as I could. Once I touched the pole I knew that this skill came easily but the burning passion was entirely new for me. After two years in Wichita, I moved to Bakersfield (19) and took my first official pole class with my good friend Licia! If it wasn’t for her taking me to that class I would not be where I am today!! I met a friend Lauren in that class who allowed me to practice at her home — eventually letting me teach private lessons! The first weekend I taught I had over 15 girls stop by Lauren’s apartment for a private lesson, and the rest is history.

First place I danced was at the Catch One in LA October 19, 2013 with Josiah BadAzz Grant, Tiny, Apple Watts, Candace Cane and Twirls McFilth.. all legends in the LA nightlife scene. I was underprepared and overly excited on my drive from Bakersfield to LA. Once I arrived I was welcomed with open arms and opportunities to grow as a dancer. To this day I’m still friends with everyone mentioned.

Since relocating to LA in 2015 my life has changed drastically. I performed for UCLA students, booked my first Hollywood gig with David LaChapelle and Britney Spears, taught weekly classes at various LA pole studios from ages 20-26, became the first male to ever dance on stage at Crazy Girls Hollywood, Pacers San Diego, Sams Hofbrau and Deja Vu Main Street. Once I developed a name for myself I had opportunities to book my friends and students for gigs. I’ve successfully booked dancers for Diddy, G-Eazy, Ty Dolla Sign, Cardi B, PartyNextDoor, Snoop Dogg, David LaChapelle, Lizzo Ii danced too!), and many more…

As of today I have worked with P-Valley, Zola Movie, Absolut Vodka, Lil Nas X, Dorian Electra, a resident dancer at The Abbey, created a pole competition “Pole Olympics” showcasing the art of true exotic dance, two national pole workshop tours, and now embarking on a spontaneous dj career while teaching clients regularly in Glendale, CA.

I’ve never shifted focus from supporting, teaching and uplifting the community that opened my eyes to a confident version of myself. I love the sex work and pole community tremendously!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has been a rollercoaster!

– Struggling to find affordable, safe housing during my early days in Los Angeles.

– Clubs rejecting me.

– Assaulted leaving a popular strip club in LA leaving me with serious damage to my mouth. (2019)

– The Pandemic shut LA down for an extremely long time causing extreme loss of income.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a professional pole dancer specializing in instructing strippers and sex workers how to elevate their mindset, money and moves — going on to book my students for major gigs and projects.

I’m known for securing the bag, being a source of inspiration for thousands, and I’m so proud of the work I’ve done and the lives I’ve touched.

What’s unique about me is my look, style, hustler’s mentality, my drive and love for the communities near and dear to my heart.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality that’s most important to my success is my love of life and people. My spirit is full of light and attracts blessings, beautiful beings and abundance. I’m always eager to learn, travel, grow and enjoy everything life has to offer.

Over the years I’ve brought people along with me on my journey and never forgot where I came from.

My joy and passion for pole shine through every post I share.
