Meet Mika Fowler of Kim Vo Salon in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mika Fowler.

Mika, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Originally started hair in Japan and worked about 10 years before I moved to LA.
Reason I came to America is simply I liked to try something new.

I studied American (western) beauty method at Vidal Sassoon and started to work in Beverly Hills.

Soon as I worked in America, I immediately knew all clients have different bone structure or hair type (like we have white, black Asian, middle eastern and Latin etc.) so I gradually developed dry haircut. (Which is custom made hair cut technique matching to each facial shape and hair type).

Now I’m specialized dry cutting and styling for red carpet and etc.

Has it been a smooth road?
I needed to lean so many skill for different hair type (especially thick Middle Eastern hair or super curly African American hair) which I never done in Japan and also I have to understand culturally back ground (including religion etc.).

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kim Vo Salon – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
LA people has high beauty standard. I’m so honored working in this city and make LA girls happy. Especially you can’t switch around your hair like dresses, so it makes me so happy that being popular hair dresser in this city.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Hollywood. It influence to all of us. We create trends.
