Meet Michael Richard Rosenblatt, Rosenblatt Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Richard Rosenblatt, Rosenblatt Studios.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born in New York City Feb 9, 1961. We moved to Riverdale, New York (north Bronx) started art in High School. My first show at Blair Academy, Blairstown, New Jersey .as a boarding school student there. I moved to San Diego California in 1977 in my late teens. More shows followed at the Southern California Art Exposition my grandmother Theresa Steinhardt was a well-known oil painter in New York and was friends with Albert Einstein in the 1940’s.

I have always wanted to express time and space through my art. Useing imagination to express our reality. Unfortunately, she died before I was born. but the influence is there. In 1983 I created murals for Juvenal Hall in San Diego I received coverage in the San Diego union and another mural a Christ church in San Diego the reverend Robert Ard . More murals and shows followed. In 1995 I painted my first 2 story mural in Encinitas, CA on Hwy 101 now defunct heaven on earth book store. In 1994 in went to Jakarta, Indonesia as a traveling American artist. I sold animal paintings there in 2012.

I had my first series of museum exhibits at the SannDiego History center in Balboa Park and the Oceanside Museum Of Art in Oceanside , CA the show spanned to museums 2012, 2013 I was on TV at KPBS , KUSI , NBC , CBS s, articles : San Diego Union Tribune , Jewish Journal , Jewish Times , The Encinitas Advocate , radio NPR , KGB FM (DJ Coe Lewis , Books : It starts with a canvas the art of Michael Richard Rosenblatt by Bradley Zink available On Amazon cover art for the book : Off The Rails by RH Guiterez , recent work Parkland Strong Mural, Park Trails elementary , Parkland Florida , the Lincoln Park Mural : (Facebook/thelincolnparkmural) , Facebook/The Oceanside mural at SpringHill Suites Oceanside , CA Facebook/theencinitashistoricalmusicmural I thought of making a Facebook pages of all public murals and founded the San Diego EarthFair wildlife mural exhibit which is now an annual event .

I’m working on a mural for the marine corps YMCA at Camp Pendleton (San Diego /Orange county I paint live for reggae and rock bands at San Diego night clubs. I’m looking to expand my art into LA I’ve always loved the lights of LA at night from the Hollywood Hills and would love to show my art and paint a mural in KA one day

Please tell us about your art.
My art is surreal bright colorful and imaginative using acrylic paint and colored pencils my message is to have the freedom to go beyond reality to that world in your mind where anything can happen

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
I think true greatness in art is to share your own unique originality and imagination and to express what goes beyond reality , words or a photograph
