Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Peace.
Michael, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I became a medical exercise specialist after being an accomplished athlete through high school and college. Competing in basketball, track and field, soccer, beach volleyball, weight training, swimming and collegiate water polo I learned about taking care of your body and managing injuries. After college ended I wanted to continue playing all the sports I love so I wanted to learn the art of preventing injuries despite competing at a high level. I graduated in Kinesiology and became the head trainer for a decade at a prestigious medically based gymnasium in the south bay.
After accruing several gold standard credentials and certifications in exercise, holistic nutrition and healthy lifestyle I wanted to keep growing so a year and a half ago I started my own training center called Peace training. Peace Training stands for Performance, enhancement and coaching education.
Peace Training is a medically based personal training studio that specializes in medical and general fitness exercise programs. We also specialize in small-group training, nutrition, healthy-lifestyle coaching, fitness assessments, and educational workshops that focus on the management through specific exercise and nutritional programs.
Peace Training uses advanced training protocols that help clients reach their full potential while reducing the risk of getting injured. Peace training works with a full spectrum of clients ranging from accomplished athletes to those recovering from injuries.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Most businesses don’t exactly follow your exact business plan. The ability to adapt in managing all aspects of a business is challenging and long hours. Running a business is not for everyone. You have to sacrifice hours, stress and finances in the beginning. At the same time, I love challenges and I love what I do. At the same time, you want to keep growing your business and not sacrifice quality so you have to have great staff members working alongside of you. It’s vitally important to have a great staff that shares your passion for health and compassion for clients.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Peace Training story. Tell us more about the business.
I am known for being the bridge from injury to fitness and in general preventing and managing injuries. I can say I’m the only one scientifically bridging that gap from injury to high level fitness after discharge from a medical professional such as a physical therapist, chiropractor, MD, etc. I’m proud that we are successfully introducing medical exercise training to the medical care spectrum by having professional referral relationships with doctors, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, nurses, acupuncturists, registered dietitians, chiropractors and getting great results.
We differ from any other exercise facility because we have gold standard credentials, medical professional connections, advanced medical protocols for most medical conditions. Also, our holistic approach toward wellbeing leads to life-long results, and improved vitality and energy levels. Our goal for everyone is:
Advanced exercise protocols (customized to participant) + nutrition plan + healthy lifestyle = peak health and fitness.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
After a devastating car accident years ago, I have firsthand experience of the physical, mental, and emotional aspects to a full recovery. I have seen both sides of the health and fitness spectrum so I can relate to almost anyone trying to improve their health and fitness state. This has helped me be the best medical exercise trainer I can be.
Also, I have had the luck and having accomplished and compassionate clients for over a decade that inspired me and educated me throughout the business start and life lessons in general. It’s like I’ve had 10 parents over the last decade since I was 21 years old. I have learned so much wisdom and experience through them which has been priceless for personal growth.
