NW Rugs started as a small enterprise in Tigard, Oregon in 1992. Since then the company has expanded into the largest family owned rug company in the western United States, with three rug stores in Portland, two near LA (Agoura Hills and Sherman Oaks), and one in Las Vegas, NV.
We pride ourselves on being family owned first. Our primary focus is and will always be on customer service and providing a true one of a kind rug buying experience. Each store has over 3,000 hand knotted rugs with a wide variety of hand tufted, machine made and the ability to order thousands more from our high-quality vendors.
Has it been a smooth road?
For us, it was adapting to the internet age. Internet giants arrived quickly and took over the space before we had a chance to catch our breath. They competed on price and expanded the meaning of brand recognization.
In our local markets, the main focus of our site and marketing strategies is to push people into the stores. We do this by providing relevant and useful information to the customer in all aspects of the rug buying journey.
For example, the biggest mistake most people make before coming into the store is measuring their space and understanding their size aesthetic. Not the physical design and color aesthetic but the size. We created a comprehensive size guide just for these people.

We specialize in rugs and are slowly expanding our expertise into furniture.
Shawn Nili and Mark Moran have over 50 combined years of rug knowledge and expertise. Many of our staff are rug experts in their own right and come from a diverse background in the rug world. Many selling and buying rugs from all around the globe including Iran, Pakistan, Central America and India.
We have also recently hired a diverse set of furniture experts who have immediately brought us into the modern age of furniture.
The part that sets NW Rugs & Furniture apart from the rest is our expertise but more importantly our customer service and diverse selection. The rug buying journey can be daunting and happen in a blink of an eye however, it does not have to be painful. From the moment you enter our showroom until you make the right purchase, we want you to enjoy every moment. Los Angeles is a place that moves with passion and style. It is jammed packed with culture which leads to diversity in all corners.
My least favorite part is traffic, try driving from Agoura Hills to downtown LA during rush hour.
