Meet Michael Angelo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Angelo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Designing clothing is something I’ve always done as a child. It simply started out with me wanting to stand out within my style from other students in school.

During grade school days, a friend and myself began painting on shoes and clothing with NBA teams and Looney Tune characters. Not after long we started taking orders and doing this for our peers.

So for a while designing has been something I’ve always steered towards. Within the past three years, I’ve focused solely on the sustainability aspect of clothing design. The way I shop for my own clothing very much so coincided with how I wanted to begin constructing garments. Each piece is mindfully sourced and created with the intent that each item is exclusive, sustainable, never to be recreated again. Adding to not only your items value, but its rarity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Designing clothing takes patience. But where I am now, owning my own workshop and salon with my wife only took consistency and focus. Nothing really came easy and still doesn’t, but pressure makes diamonds as they say. Nothing you truly will care about and want to last is going to happen overnight. Many, many obstacles but even more persistence.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Sustainably sourced and designed 1 OF 1 clothing garments for the unique.

What makes you happy?
Being able to do as I please everyday and not answer to anyone.

Freedom.
