Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Varon Weinberg. They and their team shared their story with us below:
As a third-generation G.I.A. educated jeweler, Melissa’s passion for unparalleled quality and unique design was nurtured within the very walls of her family’s retail store, where she spent her formative years. There she would fall in love with “playing store” with the vast array of colored gemstones and treasurers that were brought in from all over the world. Growing up in the retail environment, Melissa formed an indelible bond with her grandparents, the visionaries who laid the foundation of their family business. The dialogue of Melissa joining full-time at a young age always echoed through the family, this led to Melissa branching out, studying marketing and business, working in the fashion industry and owning a novelty toy company. However, fate has a way of guiding us back to our true calling. It was during Melissa’s inaugural jewelry convention that destiny beckoned her, unveiling a profound realization that reverberated deep within her soul. It was crystal clear that her passion, her purpose, lay within the mesmerizing world of jewelry. “The Jewelry industry is so uniquely shaped with an immense amount of family-run businesses, you feel the warmth of that pulsating through every facet.”
Driven by a desire for knowledge, Melissa immersed herself in jewelry-making classes. While learning how to solder and set stones, she developed a profound appreciation for the transformative power of precious metals and gemstones. Melissa’s true joy lies not only in her ability to curate the perfect item for her clients but also in the collaborative process of designing custom jewelry for her cherished clients which builds a bond of trust and loyalty between both parties. “Jewelry has a sentimental depth that has held true value through the ages, there are not many items that are being passed down to future generations anymore, this only elevates the emotion of giving and receiving jewelry. It is such a beautiful gift to be able to be a part of these special moments in others lives.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Looking back I can say I am now where I always wanted to be. This did not come easily or happen overnight. From my highschool years of making and selling jewelry to local businesses, working through college at a small jewelry store in San Diego, studying at G.I.A., to starting my own concierge jewelry business during Covid while homeschooling my children, it has been a journey. But as they say “Sometimes it’s the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.”
As I re-enter the family business I can say that I am filled with pride seeing what we have built together through the 77 years, and am excited to see how we can continue to grow this business through the generations to come. I have worked with my family in both of our locations, as my father is preparing for retirement I am re-joining my uncle in our South Bay location. I have been blessed with amazing mentors that have given me support, knowledge and a drive to always find a way to go above and beyond.

With 77 years in business, we keep adapting to the changes in our client’s wants and needs. We offer the finest in jewelry designers and watchmakers such as; Rolex, Breitling, Roberto Coin, Marco Bicego, to name a few. Our reputation has been built on quality, loyalty and trust. This has continued a flow of word of mouth referrals which in turn assists in new client acquisitions.
As the world of technology continues to change at a rapid pace, there is a stronger need to study how these clients like to shop and how we can constantly bring them a unique, elevated experience that is unparalleled to any other. With the growth of brands advertising online through social channels, our clients are seeing what new styles are available as they are being designed and produced. It is our job to stay on top of this, bring them the newest in trends, designs, education and provide an environment for them that offers an immersive experience.
We are currently remodeling the store to modernize the experience as well as bring in new designers and trends. We truly have something for everyone, for every occasion.
