Today we’d like to introduce you to Meena Zia.
Meena, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin, a city about 20 miles outside of Milwaukee. I love Wisconsin, but I always felt a little stir crazy. I had been dreaming of moving to California for many years, but the change seemed so scary that I put it off for a long time.
I’ll never forget what my mom said on the millionth time I brought it up to her: “Well, you can move there, and if you hate it you can come back. Or, you can chicken out, stay in Wisconsin, and live with the regret for the rest of your life. And if you choose the latter, I don’t want to hear any complaining.”
I decided to take her advice (like I had a choice) and moved to LA in 2016. I worked at a gym in Glendale as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach for a year before deciding to start my own business. In 2017, I founded Wellness A to Zia LLC and began writing meal plans and workouts for private clients.
Living in Los Angeles opened me up to a lot of new things. I started practicing hot yoga, meditating, going to a Reiki healer, and learning more about healing crystals. The minute I held my first crystal, that was it. I felt like a piece of me that was missing had found its way back home.
In that instant, I knew that this was my calling, and I wasn’t going to waste one more minute of my life doing anything else. I became obsessed with collecting them, and learning how to use them. In August 2018, (only a few months ago!) I officially added “Healing Crystal Retailer” to the list of Wellness A to Zia LLC products and services.
I combine my years of experience in health coaching with my knowledge of healing crystals to help clients use crystals to manifest their dreams and achieve ultimate happiness and fulfillment. I do pop up shops, workshops, retreats, and one on one coaching. It’s truly been a dream come true!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everyone plays up the positive aspects of owning your own business. You get to set your own hours, work from wherever, make your own money and be your own boss. What no one talks about is that you have to work literally around the clock and sacrifice everything.
In my first year, I worked 15-18 hour days consistently. I passed up friend trips, birthdays, dinners, holidays, etc. It was really hard looking at my family and friends’ photos and realizing I’m not in any of them, but I knew I had to do it.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Wellness A to Zia LLC – what should we know?
What sets Wellness A to Zia apart from other crystal retailers is that I am way more hands on. I simply cannot sell someone a crystal without giving them a complimentary consultation first. I’ve heard too many stories of people buying crystals online only to realize they don’t energetically connect with them at all. I hand selected every single crystal in my shop.
I go to trade shows and literally spend 6-8 hours a day rummaging through barrels of crystals to find the ten highest quality pieces (out of hundreds). This process allows me to bond and deeply understand each crystal I select, and I have a very vivid picture of each one in my head. I only need about ten minutes of someone’s time before I know EXACTLY which crystals in my shop are a match for the client.
I can’t tell you how many people do their consultation with me and say “I just feel like you’re reading my soul and it’s insane.” After the client has purchased their crystals, they can either stop there and use their new crystals on their own, or they can enroll in my five week program where I help them dig deep and face the issues that have been holding them back from manifesting the things they want in life and showing them how to use the crystals for optimum effect.
I love this program because I get to motivate and empower others to go for the things they want and become the person they want to be.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I’ve always had an uncanny ability to put the unspoken thoughts and feelings of others into words. I can just feel what people are thinking about and I intuitively know how to respond.
This gift is how I’m able to deliver a higher level of service to the client. I don’t just drop crystals off at your house and bounce. I care deeply about your success, and I will go above and beyond to make sure that you have all the tools you need to change your life.
