Meet Meekoh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meekoh. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Anchored by his love of mellifluous songwriting and timeless melodies, Meekoh has carved out his own unique sound through a blend Pop Folk & Latin Rock.

His story began in 2009 while he was busking on the rugged streets of Bend, Oregon. Over the next few years, his rise from packed dive bars and street corners quickly turned into sold-out festivals and national tours with platinum artists Shannon Bex (Danity Kane) and Grammy winner Lonnie Chapin.

In 2017, Meekoh moved to LA where he started working with some of the top people in the industry, such as Justin Bieber’s hit producer, HARV, and multi-platinum producers Marius Feder & Sergiu Gherman (Kendrick Lamar, 88 Rising, Hozier).

It was during this time that Meekoh also started a production film company called “Collidoscope” with his business partners, Daniel Cloud Campos, Alenka Obal, and Josh Martinez.

“For me, music and film just go hand in hand. Last year our company helped create the entire 88rising performance at Coachella, and next year I might just be playing it.”

Meekoh’s big directing debut was for Niki’s “Every Summertime” music video, which he co-directed with the amazing Daniel Cloud Campos.

Meekoh’s relentless passion for music continues to cultivate timeless songs, like “From the River” which he wrote during the pandemic for his beloved wife, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, a rare and life-threatening disease.

From the soulful acoustics of a Breedlove guitar to beautifully arranged strings, this is easily one of the best Pop Folk songs to date.

Currently, Meekoh is in the studio working on the release of his newest acoustic album, which he plans to release in the spring of 2023. It is by far his best work and will without a doubt stand the test of time. You can also catch him at one of his beautiful acoustic backyard shows in Burbank, California, called UNDER THE PINE, which has quickly become one of LA’s most beloved events. They are held once a month and showcase some of the best singer-songwriters in the nation.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s for sure been over a decade of ups and down. My mental health was by far the most difficult thing to navigate, especially after the Pandemic. But I’ve been so blessed to have an incredible support system of friends, family, and the most amazing wife in the whole Universe.

But all the pain and doubt was well worth it because I make music that me and so many others love.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in songwriting, live performance, and directing in the world of media.

I’d have to say I’m most known for my live performances and would also say this is what also sets me apart from others. It’s just my favorite thing in the world and it is always just such a powerful experience that I love to share with others.

I’d say I’m most proud of jumping into the world of directing. It’s not something I expected to be doing, and it’s very intimidating, but I’ve been so fortunate to learn alongside one of the world’s most talented directors, my brother, Daniel Cloud Campos.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think the odds of anything in the universe are astronomical at best. : )
