Today we’d like to introduce you to McKenzie Caldwell-Pope.
Thanks for sharing your story with us McKenzie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always loved fashion. I was the freshman in high school trotting through campus in heels! HA! Buy one get one for $10 at Charolette Russe was my jam! But I always had a passion for making my outfits look luxury even on a budget. I graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Business Marketing and did a short study abroad in Paris. After I graduated, I moved back home to Dallas and started to work for a local designer. I loved that job! I did that for three years before moving to Detroit with my husband, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who was my fiancee at the time and playing for the Detroit Pistons. We decided to focus on growing our family and now have three children, Kenzo (8), KJ (3), and Kendrix (1). Now that the kids are pretty much in their “groove” I’ve decided to start my own passionate projects. Being the only female in the house, I like to look at myself as the queen of the castle and I deserve a little me time! I started my YouTube channel about fashion and lifestyle and it is doing great! During quarantine, I started an Instagram Live TV show called Sip N Style that I host every Monday. I have a few more passionate projects under my belt that I hope to reveal very soon!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road! I often struggle with Mom guilt. I always feel guilty for taking time away from my family. Especially since my husband’s job is so demanding, I try to give my family my ALL. Taking that little slice of myself and saving it for me is a constant struggle. I keep telling myself I deserve this!

My Instagram Live TV Show Sip N Style is my current favorite venture. I interview other fashionistas one on one to discuss their personal style and to get an exclusive look inside of their closets. Many people have seen houses on MTV cribs and luxury cars on Pimp My Ride, but no one is giving an inside look into these fabulous closets!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
My journey has happened organically. I don’t know that I would change anything. Everyday, I am constantly working on growing and developing my brand. I like to build my following based on my authenticity and I hope people appreciate that.
