Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Hoang

Hi Matthew, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Despite arriving in the United States with nothing but $5 to their name, Tom and Ly remained steadfast with an uncompromising entrepreneurial spirit guiding them. Being Vietnamese-American refugees surviving the fallout of the Vietnam war, Tom and Ly committed themselves to serving the residents of Little Saigon in Orange County through their countless business ventures. From Pho Restaurant, to Flower Shop, to Seafood Market, they took every shot at success they could. Witnessing their work at every stage along the way, it became apparent that their unrelenting dedication to work and their clients is what ultimately lead them to find their success in Weddings and Events. It’s a lesson that I feel still can be felt through their work at Paracel: that if you work hard and care about what you do, success will undoubtedly follow.

Now owned and operated by a Father/Mother/Son trio, Paracel Events is located central to Little Saigon and has been serving its clients for over 14 years. Over its lifetime, Paracel truly has become a staple within the Vietnamese-American community in Southern California.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think any business venture is ever a smooth road, haha! In this line of work however, I’d say the biggest challenge has always revolved around being able to provide a custom and tailored experience for our clients. In weddings, no two events are ever the same (as it should be!) and I think what we challenge ourselves as a company every day to refine a process that allows for both flexibility and customization while retaining the ability to maintain our standard of quality. I just did a wedding the other day in which the Bride and Groom wanted to have a “first game” of Mario Kart on our big screen instead of a traditional “first dance”! Being able to create unique and memorable moments like these are truly what we live for!

We specialize in Chinese/Vietnamese Wedding Cuisine and are dedicated to creating your perfect night of celebration. We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
My mom speaks Spanish fluently and we used to own a Mexican Seafood Restaurant ^_^
