Meet Mary Samaan Nakoud of Makeup by Mary Samaan in Arcadia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Samaan Nakoud.

Mary, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I loved doing makeup ever since I can remember, I did all my family and friends makeup for fun. At the age of 16, severe anxiety which stopped me from been able to work. At the age of 18, I got married and had two children by the age of 22. So I was at home stay mom, after I had my third son Nathan in 2014. I decided to take my love for fashion and beauty to the next level. I started my online classes with dress your face. in October of 2015 I got certified by her. I was working mostly for free to gain clients and get good pictures. In the summer of 2016 I went and did a three week course by vanity makeup, and was certified by her. My client number is rising and doing better, thank God.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a hard road to gain people’s trust and love for your work. There’s also lots of makeup artist out there to compete with.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Makeup by Mary Samaan – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I do makeup and hair styling. I love making people happy and seen the confidence on their faces when I finish.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Arcadia is a beautiful city, but I don’t get good business in it.
