Meet Marsha Stonecipher of Savon Appliance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marsha Stonecipher.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marsha. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
My brother Emmett Julian got into the appliance business over 40 years ago and Started Savon Appliances. It’s a small used appliance store, we sell washers and dryers stoves and refrigerators. One day his partner retired, and he told me I was coming to work at Savon, and I did.

In the beginning, I didn’t think I could sell used appliances, but his word was as good as gold, and if he said he would do something he did it, and if I said we could do something he did it. He was honest, and upfront and we did good work, he taught me to sell appliances the way I would want someone to sell to me, with honesty and to stand behind what I sell, I sell what I like and I like what I sell.

I am very picky about the Vintage stoves we sell. I like Wedgewood and Okeefe and merits from the 1940s and 1950s, I don’t sell appliances that have computers except to the studios if we don’t have what you are looking for when you come in then come back in three or four days, and it will look like a new store. Our stock constantly changes, if you are looking for something special we will try to find it or refer you to someone that might have it.

When I started working with Emmett I was the bookkeeper then sales and now I’m the owner. I love my job; I love the customers. Everyone has a story some good some bad some happy some sad, but we do our best to help out whatever the situation is

Has it been a smooth road?
Its always a struggle, either to many appliances and not enough space, or we can’t get it ready fast enough, Life is what happens when we are making plans but for us we sell appliances people need and we also sell appliances people want. Trying to keep pricing down when everything you need to fix them keeps costing more is the biggest struggle

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Savon Appliance – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a family run business, we have been in business for over 40 years. We sell stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers, and we sell vintage Okeefe and merit and Wedgewood ranges, we specialize in being honest and doing our best.

What I am most proud of is my brother Emmett Julian. He started a business and has a good reputation and it’s my job to keep up the good work. He taught me almost everything I know, what keeps us apart from others is our honesty and fairness, we do what’s fair for both us and the customer

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the warm weather and the different kinds of people. I dislike the taxes on everything we touch.
