Today we’d like to introduce you to Marsha Meyer.
Marsha Meyer, The Natural Mixologist, currently based in Los Angeles, has been in the beverage industry for 9 years. Her experience has spanned from being a bartender in London, to a bar program director in NYC, to consulting for major liquor brands. She continues to help them promote their product and grow their customer base through media such as the trade magazines Tasting Panel and Chilled, and Fortune, Harper’s Bazaar, NY Post, and others.
She has been invited to pour at the Grammys, Los Angeles Fashion Week, Cultivate LA, Vestal Village at Coachella, DesignCare and the HollyRod Foundation, and many others and for numerous VIP and celebrities. In addition to using these opportunities to demonstrate in person that cocktails can be natural, organic, and sustainable, too! She is working on a cocktail book to share her vision with a wider audience.
Marsha is excited that her recently created cocktail catering company has launched her own line of Crafted Mixers that are Organic, Vegan, Gluten Free, & non-GMO. They are called MIXTRESS…
This is a significant career change as Marsha is a Forensic Mental Health Specialist and was practicing Mental Health Law in London. After returning to the states, a career change was in order and the spirits industry opened its doors.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As this was a career that sort of happened as opposed to one that was planned, I have struggled to find exactly what the path would be. And I have never been an entrepreneur before, and it requires a very different skill set than that which I cultivated in my academic career.
But, now the path is clear. It has mostly been elucidated by my clients. I had clients asking me to create custom cocktails for their events, so my cocktail catering company, The Natural Mixologist was formed.
Then my catering clients asked me how they could re-create my amazing cocktails for themselves. So, I created a line of Custom Crafted Cocktail Mixers called Mixtress.
Mixtress Cocktail Mixers are organic, vegan, and gluten free.
And there are exciting garnishes including Cocktail Perfume & Cocktail Crystals.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Natural Mixologist – what should we know?
What sets The Natural Mixologist apart is our focus on creating the healthiest cocktail possible. I only use ingredients that are organic, vegan, gluten free, and non-GMO.
In addition to this, I use as many super-foods and other good for you ingredients as possible in my cocktails.
I was inspired by the farm to table movement that focus on contentious and thoughtful eating. And I feel that this thoughtfulness should not stop at our plate. That we should be just as thoughtful about what we drink.
My motto is De-Tox while you Re-Tox.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
