Meet Marlon Martinez of Celestial Wedding Officiants in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlon Martinez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started officiating weddings with the guidance of someone I met in church. Rev. Edward Brown is in part responsible for my desire to become a Wedding Officiant. I started attending some of the weddings Rev. Brown was officiating as a way to learn how to properly conduct a wedding ceremony. After learning and absorbing as much knowledge as I could, the desire to start my own business was born. The business name, Celestial Wedding Officiants came to me in a dream. I then got ordained as a Non-Denomination wedding officiant and started officiating. I enjoy working with couples to make their ceremony a one of a kind and unique wedding experience.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a great and exciting experience to work with couples that are in love and want to unite theirs lives in marriage. I work with the couple to customize their wedding ceremony to their own personal style and beliefs. I do my very best to make the whole process of creating their dream ceremony as stress free as possible. I believe that it’s the couple’s special day and their ceremony should be about them and the one they love. One of the challenges I had to over come as a wedding officiant was waiting for that first couple to give me the opportunity to perform their wedding ceremony. After, conducting my first ceremony I knew it was what I wanted to do full time.

Please tell us about Celestial Wedding Officiants.
Celestial Wedding Officiants was born with the intention to help couple share their own personal love stories with their friends and families, instead of just simply signing a paper and legally marrying the couple. Getting married is one of the biggest decisions we as human can make. Marriage is a commitment to share ones personal life with someone else for the rest of our lives. We cater to the couple’s personal needs on their special day. I personally meet with each couple to get to own them before their wedding day. We build on trust, reliability, professionalism and provide a personalize quality service. We perform Traditional, Spiritual, Personal and Civil Ceremonies, Quinceañera Blessing and Vow Renewals. We also offer Bilingual services in English & Spanish.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As a child I enjoyed spending time with my siblings. I was part of a big family and simple celebration would turn into a feast. My mom loved cooking and Christmas Eve dinner was always the perfect occasion to indulge the family with her delicious dishes. I always looked forward to our memorable Christmas dinner party. The time with my family has been the best gift of life.
