Meet Mark Yeung of Fashion Greek in University Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Yeung.

Mark, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Youngest of three, there weren’t many expectations of me compared to my successful and well educated older brothers. Although I always looked up to my brothers, my true inspiration are my parents, hardworking, Chinese entrepreneur immigrants. My goal in life was to “do better” than my parents, with this fortunate life they’ve given me, and make a difference … one shirt at a time.

As my brothers focused on academics, I found my passion was in leadership. I held many roles in many organizations throughout high school and college career and would soon find out that joining a Greek letter social fraternity would later lead me to owning a t-shirt store for Greeks.

Before becoming my own boss, it was a long journey through the corporate world; oh, how I miss vacation days. As I was climbing the corporate ladder, more like hopping from ladder to ladder, I never had an outlet to pursue my passion. With the love and support of my parents, I took a risk to start a business just like my parents did.

Four years in, I realized I’ve always been “doing better” than my parents because they have created a path for me to discover opportunities they didn’t have. I am so grateful for them and can merely comprehend the hardships they went through.

Fashion Greek’s hard working work ethics stem from my parents through me and through my lead by example leadership. In making a difference, we are disrupting the custom t-shirt industry with on-site designers, near instant garment printing and many other services; one-stop shop, no more designing guessing online and waiting weeks for custom shirts to be done, we make custom apparel fast and easy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The one struggle I had was defining our strength and focusing on it. I discovered our strength and what sets us apart from other t-shirt printers is our customer service. My team and I are customer centric and focus on the needs of them. I am always applying new ideas to enhance the customer experience whether its better communication, easier payment options, design education, garment education, etc.

Another struggle is our focus on Greek organization printing. We are a bit pigeon holed with our name as people think we “only” print for Greeks groups, which is not true. We are currently in the works with re-branding as a general shirt and graphic design company. More to come!

Please tell us about Fashion Greek.
Fashion Greek is a one stop shop for customizing your shirts. We specialize in direct to garment printing and known for fast turnaround. I am most proud of our customer service but more specific my workers that give that great service which sets us apart from the competition.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is playing in my parent’s factory with my brothers.
