Meet Marissa Kiersch of 15|40 Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Kiersch

Hi Marissa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got my start through the Public Relations route, where I studied PR and Art History at the University of Oklahoma before moving back to Los Angeles (I am an LA native). During the summers when I was back home in La Cañada, I interned with PMK / HBH (I don’t believe it’s called that anymore—don’t mind me letting my age show) and Disney on Ice, which provided me a foundation into the behind-the-scenes of the event world through a lens of marketing and PR. These early experiences also introduced me to the complexities of event logistics—understanding how crucial it is to seamlessly coordinate every detail, from talent/executive management to venue operations to travel movements, to ensure flawless execution.

My first full-time role was with Principal Communications Group, where I had the privilege of learning from notable industry icons like Melissa Zukerman and Paul Pflug. It was there that I discovered my passion for events, which led me to transition to Legendary Entertainment. At Legendary, I worked on global marketing campaigns for major films and large-scale events, helping to amplify brand engagement on a global scale. I also managed executive movements for major events like Comic-Con and international meetings.

In 2017, I joined 15|40 Productions, where I now help shape our experiential and creative services departments, leading brand activations for global clients like Hulu, Paramount, and Disney. My role has expanded to overseeing both the creative direction and the logistical execution of our projects, ensuring that each event not only tells a compelling story but also runs smoothly from start to finish. Each step of my journey has been an incredible learning experience, and I’m proud of the dynamic team we’ve built and the innovative experiences we continue to create. I’m excited about the future and the possibilities for how experiential marketing will evolve in the coming years.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like all things—the road has been filled with twists and turns, but rewarding. One of my biggest career struggles was pivoting industries. After a couple of years in corporate PR, I realized that wasn’t the path I wanted to follow, and I had to make the tough decision to leave behind a team that I considered family. There was, of course, a lot of uncertainty and fear of the unknown, but taking that leap opened up amazing new opportunities and took me to where I am today. Event production has its challenges but each one only fuels me further to create new and exciting experiences for our clients’ needs.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in creating unique, immersive brand experiences that connect brands with their audiences in meaningful ways.

At 15|40, we focus on experiential marketing, working with global brands to design events and activations that create lasting memories. One area that sets us apart is our expertise in producing red-carpet premieres, where we continuously showcase our clients’ projects in compelling ways that resonate. We’ve worked with everyone, from Disney to Paramount to ESPN and beyond. I’m most proud of how our team pushes the boundaries of what’s possible, consistently delivering cutting-edge, viral experiences.

I bring my ability to blend creativity with strategic thinking to the table at 15|40. While I’m all about bold ideas and out-of-the-box concepts, I also make sure that every experience we create is carefully executed based on our clients’ clear goals. I’m building a division that’s now a significant revenue driver for our company.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is going to baseball games with my family, which shaped my devout love for the Dodgers. I grew up a huge sports fan, and those days at the ballpark are some of my fondest memories. I still love baseball to this day, so it was a full-circle moment when I put on an intimate dinner at a private residence for Legendary with the Baseball Hall of Fame. That was the only time throughout my career that I truly felt starstruck…and I am typically running premieres with some of the biggest A-listers in the world but helping the late Tommy Lasorda into the dinner made my hands tremble.
