Meet Marc M. Kerner, MD, FACS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc M. Kerner, MD, FACS.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Our practice was started in 1995 in Northridge, California focusing on Facial Plastic and reconstructive surgery and head and neck surgery. I am double board certified in Facial Plastic surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery after surgical training at UCLA.

We provide the highest quality medical and surgical care for Facial cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery of the face, nasal and sinus surgery, and treatment of sleep apnea and general otolaryngology. We expanded our service area in 2007 to include the Conejo Valley in Westlake Village, California.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We began in practice at the beginning of the HMO era which was quite challenging for private practice. After surviving these obstacles, we were able to grow by providing timely, high quality service to a wide range of patients.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We now have 2 physicians, a physician assistant, a full-time nurse and 14 employees allowing us to run both offices and a surgical center. We specialize in all aspects of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and Facial Plastic and reconstructive surgery.

We pride ourselves on providing availability to high quality surgical care in our communities that we serve.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Our success is predicated in other quality physicians in our communities that refer to us, and of course our patients who provide the best referrals through word of mouth.
