Meet Malcolm Bracey of Pornhoodies in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malcolm Bracey.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
So I started out in Madison WI working a 9-5 at the local mall on the Westside of town, One day had the idea to put pornographic images on a hoodie for fun. I knew it would be a big thing if I made it be, so I hit up rappers that I liked at the time asking them if they wanted one and most of them did, and I built a nice buzz and fan base off that. That’s how I met who I call my sister now Tara and she really liked the hoodies and I came to California to hang with her and her girlfriend Julie for some months and really cracked down on making my idea more of a brand. I was having art shows around this time also in Madison WI where I could paint and have other artists show art and music, it was a really nice underground scene. From all of this buzz and money, I eventually moved to LA in 2019 and have had over 20 art shows and a total of four fashion shows all getting bigger each one.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road was never smooth for me, but I learned how to deal with that and make the best out of it. Since a young age I’ve taken a beating from life but always knew I had more to do so I’ve always kept my head on my shoulders. Having to deal with the death of my father from a police shootout to having manic depression I’ve had to overcome a lot of obstacles on the way.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pornhoodies – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Wow this is a lot lol, but first my company is “Pornhoodies” which is really what it sounds like putting porn onto clothing pieces. I want it to stay that simply of a concept because the porn industry and the fine lines of things get tricky. Basically, I’m out to fight censorship and promote people being themselves, porn is to be naked… and naked is to be you completely and that’s something I’ve always believe in, and hoodies are comfort..so that’s being comfortable with yourself. I specialize in hoodies and cozy wear, like sweatpants and t-shirts. I’m most proud that I have made a brand that I can stand behind and that I did it my own way and never tried to fit in or I never stopped when plenty of people wanted me to. I would say what sets me apart from others is my ability to create things that are genuine and my lack of caring about other thoughts on myself.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I really love that my city has a small-town feel and that I can walk around and people know me, but that’s also the thing I don’t like about it lol. Also, I like the Artist Lil T has the best thing Madison has right now, plus reese the demon.
