Meet Sergio Martinez, Paul and Emmanuel Gonzalez of Maestro Restaurant in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sergio Martinez, Paul and Emmanuel Gonzalez.

Sergio, Paul and Emmanuel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are a group of childhood friends who learned about authentic Mexican food from our family kitchen, culture, recipes, and attitudes about food were passed on from generation to generation in our families. We came together for Maestro in order to share our love of Mexican cuisine and mezcal. We thrive on presenting dishes in new and modern ways while still honoring our culture’s traditions.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every business has challenges but we’ve been fortunate enough to overcome them as an ownership group. Our business relationship grows stronger and stronger because of those challenges. We always come out on the other side with a wealth of knowledge that helps up tackle the next issue with ease. One of our main concerns is keeping our offerings fresh and continuing to surprise our patrons. We push ourselves to overcome boundaries and to make sure that every day we open our doors, our guests will be receiving a modern take on the most authentic food around.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Maestro Restaurant – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Maestro is an authentic Mexican restaurant and Mezcaleria offering elevated comfort food and cocktails. Patrons can enjoy traditional dishes in the 2,500 sq ft venue located at 110 E. Union St., in Old Town Pasadena. Maestro is the first fine-dining foray for Maestro Group, a leading culinary and hospitality establishment that develops, manages and operates culinary destinations in California.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We want to continue to surprising and delighting our guests. We do that by constantly reinventing our venue and revamping our bar offerings. We also look forward to continuing being a part of our guests’ most special days: birthdays, promotions, first dates, and wedding anniversaries. It continues to put a smile on our face to be an integral part of these milestones and we can’t wait to ring in another year doing so.
