Meet Madeline Monet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Monet.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I first began my career in the entertainment industry as a little girl; I was in various musicals, plays, and fashion shows. I didn’t become consistent until after I graduated high school.

Instagram played a huge role in where I am today. Because of Instagram, I became easily accessible to creatives and visionaries who consistently reached out to me to model in their photos or be a part of their video passion projects. At first, modeling was a hobby, but eventually became a means to support myself financially and network amongst others in the entertainment industry who would eventually propel me forward.

Over the past five years, I’ve been a part of various projects and worked with many reputable brands. Currently, I am focusing more on youtube/influencer marketing – I am a personality in a YouTube channel with over four million subscribers, I’m working consistently in the studio to produce more singing covers, and am in the works of launching my Creative Agency where I do producing, directing, and casting under. Looking back, the journey has been long, but rewarding and it’s only the beginning.

Has it been a smooth road? Can you talk to us a bit about some of the challenges you’ve faced to get to where you are today?
Nothing in life comes easily, my journey has been extremely rewarding and has taught me a lot. Industry standards had to have been the biggest set back for me in terms of modeling. People in Hollywood have this expectation for models to be super skinny and tall. I have been denied many well-paying jobs and entry into modeling agencies because of my height (5’2). Despite my height, I’ve still had the opportunity to work with companies who praise diversity in shapes and sizes.

We’d love to hear more about your work. What makes you stand out? What are you most proud of?
As previously mentioned, I do a variety of things. I consider myself a creative entrepreneur because I work in the entertainment industry, but on both sides of the spectrum. On the creative side, I do acting, modeling, and singing. On the business side, I do producing, casting, and directing – all under my creative agency.

My greatest strength, I would say, is my personality because it is showcased in everything I do. When I’m in a creative space, I’m able to give my own twist on things, for instance, styling my own outfits and singing a song in a certain key or melody based on an emotion I feel from the song I’m covering, etc. On the business side of things, my personality is a strength because I’m able to coordinate with my team in a way that is constructive and fun, rather than bland and corporate-esk.

As a creative, I am most proud of my growth on social media over the past year and the reputable companies my creative agency and I have collaborated with. Since November 2018, I have grown a total of 60k followers on Instagram, most of which come from YouTube. Growing my social media has created new outlets for me like getting the attention of big companies and reputable brands and allowing me to tap into the market of social media influencer marketing/advertising.

As an entrepreneur, I am most proud of some of the projects I have produced in 2019. The biggest project being with Adidas and Champs on an influencer campaign featuring @ai.visuals. Other projects include casting influencer models for a mobile video game and playing the role of producer for the game’s photoshoots and licensing expo. As a women in the industry, it is a lot harder to get recognized and be granted trust to take on projects, but my work ethic and ability to work efficiently and effectively has allowed me to work on such amazing projects.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moments are always when my family have something positive to say about what I am doing career-wise. I’ve had multiple breakthroughs on different levels and at each of those breakthroughs, my family has always been there. Recently, my proudest moment was when I showed my grandma Maria my Suncity cover. She only speaks Spanish and this cover happens to be in Spanish and English. She was a bit skeptical at first, but when she heard words in Spanish, she immediately took a liking to it. I’m not fluent in Spanish just yet, so covering a song with Spanish lyrics was a bit challenging. The fact that my grandmother who only speaks Spanish, started dancing to it gave me all the validation I needed and encouraged me to cover more Spanish songs.
