Meet Lynsey Hand of Miss L Fire in Los Feliz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynsey Hand.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lynsey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We are an English company, and launched our shoe line in 2005.

I had previously worked for a number of years as a buyer and designer for UK shoe companies, Clark’s and Office, before launching my own line.

Our Aesthetic blends classic, 1940’s Hollywood and modern contemporary fashion, so where better to launch our first store than Los Angeles ?! 🙂

In our LA boutique, we also carry selected UK clothing lines, many exclusive to us in the US, as well as make-up and accessories, so our customers can be outfitted top to toe, within our boutique.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I am still based in the UK, and whilst I travel to LA regularly, I am away from the store a lot – so that’s definitely our biggest challenge! However, I have a great manager who takes all challenges in her stride so that helps a lot!

Miss L Fire – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are predominantly a footwear company. We specialize in glamorous, ,distinctive, fashionable footwear.

Our shoes also have ‘memory foam’ technology in the insoles, and many have padded arch supports, so are extremely comfortable; we just don’t believe that pretty shoes should hurt your feet.

Our customers tell us time & again that ours are the most comfortable shoes they have ever owned…we put a huge amount of effort into not only the design but also the fitting and comfort of our styles so it’s always great to know that this is appreciated!

I’m super proud of having survived, as a small business for over 12 years now, and could not have done that without my wonderful employees – they are the best!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Happy customers and happy employees – those are the two most important things to me as a business owner.

Of course, we look for yearly increases, but for us, if we listen to our customers and give them what they want, our increases will happen naturally.
