Today we’d like to introduce you to Luyang Tian.
Luyang, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a San Francisco-based fashion and commercial photographer. I earned my MFA degree in Photography from the Academy of Art University. Before I came to the USA in 2016, I was a full-time portraiture and commercial photographer in China. I arranged photoshoots for various brands and clients.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I started as a photography enthusiast, and through a full year of hard work and determination, honed my craft until I was able to break into the professional field of photography. Being a good photographer requires not only good technology but also a superb aesthetic to have a distinct voice in the market. So, while exploring my own photography methods over the past eight years, I also obtained my MFA degree in photography in the United States.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Seraphlia Studio – what should we know?
I am currently an independent commercial photographer. My main shooting areas include portrait, environmental portrait, still life, and fashion photography. I am experienced at using light and color. These abilities allow me to maintain a high level of creation in different photography fields and allow me to survive and develop in this highly competitive industry.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Angel S. – She is the MUA who helps me to get the models ready for the photoshoots. Also, she gives me a lot of inspiration and power to move on.
Wendy – He is the stylist who helps to dress up the models, he knows what I need and how to enhance the visual impact with different outfits.
