Meet LUVK Luckett of F.O.P in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to LUVK Luckett.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from the east coast. Raised in Virginia, but just recently moved to LA from new york city! I started my professional career there. Singing on BET’S 106 & PARK as a child. After that, I focused on molding my sound and released my first ep Human. I landed a few tours overseas and did a domestic tour for Pepsi funk fest. With the momentum of that project, I ended up moving to LA, partnered up with my team and Venessa Michaels and made the music of my dreams. Creating a hybrid of hip hop and rock and roll, and now we’re gearing up to release my debut album in April, titled “It wasn’t Luck. Dropping the first single ‘ Dead Wrong ” on the 21st of this month.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like many, it has not. Not having a place to stay as a teenager, As well as tasting a piece of success and then having it all taken away, humbled me super early. Also, being heavily influenced by different genres and projecting that through my music was misunderstood by execs. But the same things that I thought counted me out are the same things that are working for my highest good now. The world needed my voice; I just had to wait for them to catch up! 🙂

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m an artist, a musician, songwriter, and designer. I sing and write bops, and I design jewelry and clothes under my brand F.O.P (For Other People | For Our People) for myself and other influential artists.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I mean, no pun intended but my name is LUVK pronounced as luck. But all jokes aside, I named my album “It Wasn’t Luck” because it wasn’t. The purpose has always been the driving force in my life. At a really young age, I identified with that, and what it meant to me. God, Purpose and an astronomical amount of hard work have always been the mood.
