Hi Luis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Footy Tribe was born at the intersection of style and giving back.
We are a football outreach streetwear brand that began because a coach laced up me up with a fresh pair of boots and sparked inspiration to keep playing and be the best I could be on the field, all the while helping my young immigrant parents. This event changed the path for years to come, leading me to become a first-generation Division 1 student-athlete graduate and Master’s degree recipient.
We firmly believe the game is a driving vehicle to change the lives of anyone who commits and strives for a better tomorrow. We pride ourselves in developing and creating unique apparel our Footy Tribe will love and also support because of its philanthropic business model.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The hardest part certainly has been learning every aspect there is to starting something out of thin air. From design, distribution, outsourcing, suppliers, to marketing, literately every aspect of all while doing it myself.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a full-time soccer coach. I coach nine years old and 18 years. I hold a USSF B license coach and have a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My parents have always been supportive and motivating. They’ve always taught me to give back. My fiancé Lily has been great at giving me guidance in areas I may not be able to navigate on my own and my brother Pedro has always been there to give feedback on ideas and helps identify kits when we go searching for vintage wear. The Footy Tribe Soccer team has been there since day 1.
