Meet Lucy Liu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucy Liu.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lucy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up in a Chinese immigrant family, I always had a deep, ambitious desire for success in life and to finish school sooner. So, I dropped myself out of high school as a straight-A student after my sophomore year. I graduated from UCLA with a BS in Economics and had plans to pursue my dream of becoming a financial adviser.

I was living the Hollywood life, but courageously chose love over my career and moved to Taiwan. It was a country I’ve not even visited. I underwent many life transitions – overcoming many different kinds of obstacles, including burnout, stress, overwhelm, etc. Through a decade of personal development and also showered by ancient Chinese wisdom, I pride myself in mastering the art of slowing down yet accomplishing more. I learned how to overcome stress, and to be joyful regardless of the surrounding circumstances. Today, I share my stories and strategies to help influence women around the world to be more powerful, soulful, and joyful.

As an ex-overachiever and recovering perfectionist, I’ve been traveling throughout Asia for the past 13 years. I’ve been living a thriving life as an unshakable optimist. As a loving wife, motivated mother, easy-going entrepreneur, I’m now super passionate to help other women get from feeling stuck to full clarity, helping them find true happiness and rewrite their life story. In pursuit of happiness and living a fulfilled life.

Has it been a smooth road?
I would definitely be lying if I said it has been a smooth road, however, I enjoyed every part of the ride.

When a rock is thrown at us, we get to decide if we see it as a bolder that’s in the way of our path or if they are the exact pebbles we need to pave our way to success and happiness.

Sometimes the very thing that we want to get rid of is the stepping stone towards what we truly need.

How we choose to approach what appears to be obstacles and challenges will dramatically impact our experience and the results of whether or not we can reach our goals.

I’ve learned that the definition of success and happiness is different for everyone, we just need to focus on our own path.

We need to accept our current realities, shift our altitude, set new goals and take action towards manifesting new opportunities.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a life coach specialized in helping high achieving women who are in a transitional period of life; together we kiss overwhelm goodbye, get unstuck, and quickly move forward in achieving new life goals and live a more fulfilling life.

I’m super proud that when business owners show up for themselves to transform their personal life, their businesses always grow as a direct reflection of their personal life.

I always hope to inspire women in need of mindset inspiration and business tips with my weekly podcast the Lucy Liu Show.

I truly feel I have the ultimate calling to be doing the work I am doing and I have the natural superpower now to see through any negatives and turn them immediately into new positive opportunities.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I definitely anticipate the continued rise in automated apps for the coaching industry, however, the industry thought leaders will still be the ones who are more experienced and do well in human interactions.

The coaching industry is currently non-regulated, which means anyone can call themselves a coach. I think eventually the requirements will be standardized in terms of training and credentials.

The most exciting part is I truly believe that in the future, working with a coach will be a society norm. Everyone needs a coach will become reality.
