Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucy Daniels.
Lucy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been in the industry for 17 years and my love for hair started around ten years old. I come from a family of artists and when I started doing hair, the artist inside me awoke. I love creating and making people feel beautiful. As a hairstylist, we should never stop growing or learning and for me I believe having this mindset was key to my success. Without my clients, I would not be able to make my hair dreams and visions come to life. They trust and give me artistic freedom to create beautiful hair and for that, I am beyond thankful.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in life is a smooth road but I truly feel the bumps and turns make as stronger and more driven. The recent pandemic has been the biggest struggle so far but I keep a positive outlook and have the most amazing clients who have been so patient and supportive during this crazy time in our world.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about HoneyLux_21 Hair by Lucy Bellene – what should we know?
I have a beautiful suite in the beautiful Bungalow21. The salon itself is such a magical creative space. I share my space with a long time friend and Coworker Brianna Mendoza and together we have created such an amazing space to create hair. I specialize in color and extensions. My favorite thing to so is to paint hair. I love big color projects and put my whole heart into each client and their hair dreams and needs.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being genuine and honest. I have clients from the beginning of my career 17 years ago. I feel as a stylist, we do build personal relationships. We are not only trusted with their hair but we are there for life events too. All the good things, weddings, babies, graduations, dating etc but also the tough times, the loss of loved ones, disappointments and Life struggles. We share laughs and smiles as well as tears and heartache. My chair is a safe space for all my clients and I feel blessed to be trusted with all their hair needs. They give my passion a canvas and let my hair ideas come to life.
