Meet Love White of Love & Snow in East Hollywood Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Love White.

Love, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been a natural enthusiast since I was a young child. We grew up being very conscientious about what we ate and put on our bodies. The small, packed to the brim, “kinda smells weird” health food store of the 80’s is what my childhood memories are made of.

The creation of a more natural and holistic approach to hair care came from my own frustrations dealing with a multi-decade long struggle with hair and scalp issues. Itchy, flaky scalp due to dandruff, and frizzy, dry, brittle hair that would split and excessively shed, had been problems from an early age. After years of trying every possible natural remedy with no success, we went a more commercial route. Turning to medicated, dermatologist recommended, professional, and over the counter products, lead to the development of allergies to synthetic, chemical ingredients often found in many formulas.

Fast forward to years in the essential oil industry in Formulation, Education, and Business Operations along with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Clinical Psychology and Public Health; my personal focus became developing an easy to use, natural AND effective option for those with sensitivities, which birthed the Love & Snow Restorative Hair and Scalp Serum. Initially developed for personal use, as the product was shared and results were seen by others (and requests and demands persisted) the decision was made to develop a business focus on helping individuals achieve healthy hair and scalp regardless of thickness, texture, or condition. Love & Snow is inclusive, providing effective positive results across ethnicity, age, and gender. The new addition of our Intensive Hair and Scalp Tonic arrived in 2018 and was developed out of the recurring need seen for deep nourishment after over processing and/or coloring hair as well as stubborn scalp troubles that needed extra care.

Currently, the goal is to introduce the Love & Snow experience throughout California. We travel from San Francisco to San Diego popping up at wellness, vegan, sustainability, family, and cultural events. The Love & Snow line is currently carried at The Healing Center in Culver City, Nigel Beauty Emporium in North Hollywood, and Salon Benders’ in Long Beach. Our current retail partners embody the Love & Snow mission to help support individuals through their concerns with care and love and I couldn’t be more grateful! This year we are continuing our work to expand in both the realm of retail and connecting in person.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel the road for any Entrepreneur is paved with obstacles and for Love & Snow, it has been no different. Developing a business structure in the beginning and getting all the pieces in place from website development, to business license, to tax structure selection; it is a very sharp learning curve. Finding quality, reliable services on a small business budget definitely presented challenges and hones skills in communicating exactly what you want to see if that matches up with the abilities of a company or individual you are looking to do business with.

Finding the spaces and places where Love & Snow is a good fit takes continuous time, research, and effort and sometimes you don’t know it’s not the best fit until you commit yourself and go through the experience.

Differentiating Love & Snow from other hair care lines especially in the boom of Argan, Moroccan, Olive oils, etc. has added additional challenges to the initial perception of Love & Snow products. Part of the Love & Snow experience includes some unlearning and re-learning on how to care for your hair and scalp; including what to look for, what to avoid, how hair and scalp naturally function and what they need. However, this is a welcomed challenge as it gives us the opportunity to show there is another way to achieve desired results.

Love & Snow – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Love & Snow is a multi-functional, 100% natural, hair care line for hair and scalp health. The Restorative Hair and Scalp Serum combats and protects against frizz, split ends, breakage, and further damage while promoting hair growth for all hair types. The serum decongests irritated scalp and addresses common troubling dry, flaky, and oily scalp conditions. The Intensive Hair and Scalp Tonic is a once a week intensive treatment to help further repair hair damage from over processing, coloring, and heat damage. The tonic is also formulated to enhance serum benefits in actively supporting the healing of more severe dry, flaky, itchy, or excessively oil scalp conditions. Products are formulated to absorb completely, leaving no oily residue behind, in both hair and scalp for all hair types and textures.

Love & Snow Restorative Hair and Scalp Serum can be used:
AFTER washing as a leave-in conditioner and detangler
BEFORE styling tool use as a heat protector
AFTER styling as a finishing serum

Handcrafted in Los Angeles, Love & Snow products are a great option especially for those with sensitive skin as they are Vegan, Cruelty-Free, 100% Natural, non-toxic, and contain 100% certified organic ingredients. We steer clear of unwanted elements containing NO Chemicals, NO Parabens, NO Synthetics, and NO Fragrance.

The Love & Snow focus is on repair and re-balance instead of managing or controlling, allowing everyone to see benefits as they use product. What sets us apart is how quickly results are seen. Part of the Love & Snow event experience includes the opportunity to enjoy our signature hair and scalp massage demo where you’re able to see your hair change right before your eyes; it is our favorite way to let the product speak for itself. We are proud to offer this experience option because it is a rare opportunity for a consumer to test out a product before they purchase AND be able to see and feel results almost immediately. I am most proud of the customer experience our Love & Snow family have. This business has been developed and is constantly honed in love; I want people to feel cared for when they meet us when they get pampered by us, and every day they use their Love & Snow products. So far, when we receive customer feedback, that is what they tell us, “thank you for caring, thank you for considering my struggle, thank you for making such a great product.” That is what fuels me to continue to grow.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment to date has been the collective customer Love & Snow experience. When I receive hugs and “thank yous” from those who have struggled with itchy scalp due to chemo treatments, hair loss or stunted growth due to surgeries and medications, or hair loss and damage related to a medical condition; it is a constant affirmation of why I am doing what I am doing. Sometimes it’s simply bringing more ease to the styling process and allowing an individual to live more life and not have to be so bogged down in their hair care regiment. I understand that struggle, I have been there. Those almost tear-filled hugs of gratitude confirm I am right where I am supposed to be, doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing.
