Meet Louis Knight

Today we’d like to introduce you to Louis Knight.

Louis Knight

Hi Louis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been singing my whole life, started writing songs when I was 13/14. I ended up not going to college and pursuing music full-time. Then I went on American Idol in 2020 and performed an original called “Change” which I wrote about suicide prevention. I ended up coming in the top 7. Since then, have been continuing to write and release my own music and also write for other artists!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s definitely been a lot of struggle. The highs and lows of the music industry are so drastic. It’s so hard to break nowadays, no matter how good you are. You’ve got to keep going till you reach that point and all the while figuring out how to stay afloat financially.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m mostly known for being on American Idol and being an Artist/songwriter. I’m mostly proud of my ability to tell my truths in my music, in a way that others relate to and can heal from.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My parents have been my biggest supporters and have always helped me believe in myself in the time’s that it’s hardest to. At the times I’ve been in between management, they’ve helped me manage my business with lots of advice and listening to me vent about the industry.
