Meet Artist: Sia Aryai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sia Aryai.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Aryai displayed an interest in art from early childhood. Finding himself in a stringent cultural environment. In the mid 70’s, Aryai left Iran for England where he received his formal education and was free to pursue his artistic passions. Later he ventured on to the United States where in the mid 80’s he immersed himself in the medium of photography. This gave him the perfect means and medium to capture the essence and the beauty through his own unique vision, approach, and style.

Aryai is also credited with producing artistic product renderings for such major companies as Nike, Kraft, Blue Cross and Adidas, Samsung. His images have also appeared as key set decorations in major motion pictures.

Aryai’s images speak universally and have garnered both national and international acclaim. His art works have shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe.

Has it been a smooth road?
There is always issues and struggles but they all become another challenge and good memories on the end.

What’s your outlook for the industry over the next 5-10 years?

We become more selective as we have more options of our favorite art to choose through the internet and I believe there will be fewer galleries in next 10 years since we like to deal directly with our favorite artist internationally.

Has there been a particular challenge that you’ve faced over the years?
To establish my style and find the right market then learn and find out how to market it. You can not find your style in books or other artist’s work. It will happen through hard work and commitment. This is the challenge to believe you will make it. Visualize, move toward it and never quit.

What would you tell someone who is just starting out?
Never give up. We gain knowledge in school but no one teaches us how to become successful in what we love to do. This is the hard part and we have to learn it all by our self. Keep making mistake and try one more time because you believe in you will find the right way.
