Meet Loriann Savarese of Savvy Kitchens in Manhattan Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Loriann Savarese.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Loriann. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
While I knew pursuing an acting career would be a crazy idea, I went for it anyways. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, I headed to Hollywood to pursue my dream. While pursuing my actor career I also worked as a designer for Ethan Allen. I’ve always loved interior design and found the design industry very rewarding. My sister signed us up for a kitchen and bath design course through the National Kitchen and Bath Association. A few hours in I was hooked and have been in the kitchen & bath design industry ever since. The first kitchen design showroom I walked into offered me a job and I stayed there for nearly 12 years. It was a kitchen and bath design/build firm. After receiving my CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) accreditation I took on the role as Senior Designer, Salesperson, Project Manager, etc. I was responsible for every aspect of the kitchen & bath remodel process. Of course, it was a dream of mine to open my own business. I started Savvy Kitchens, a custom kitchen and bath design business specializing in fine cabinetry and attention to detail. I was originally working from home and eventually opened a design studio/showroom in Manhattan Beach… One block from the beach. I couldn’t ask for a better location or better clientele. The saying “when you do what you love to do it doesn’t feel like work” … is so true. I feel blessed that I enjoy working with clients and creating dream spaces.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening your own business can be very scary. It takes a leap of faith and a lot of support. Luckily, I have an extremely supportive husband that told me to go for it!! I’m so glad I did. I took that leap and never looked back.

Savvy Kitchens – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Savvy kitchens is a small boutique company specializing in designing dream kitchens and bathrooms. I set out to start this business because I saw a need for homeowners that were struggling with all the decisions that need to be made. Many of my clients may have contractors already, but have no idea how to lay out the kitchen, what materials to use etc. That’s were Savvy Kitchens comes in. I will work with you to create a floor plan for your space along with colored renderings and a concept board so you can see the plans before you move forward with construction. I’d say what sets Savvy Kitchens apart from others is attention to detail, creativity, customer service and a true passion for the design industry.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Leaving a steady income to pursue my dream of becoming an entrepreneur and opening Savvy Kitchens is by far the most rewarding experiences I have had in my professional career. Looking forward to all the new projects and opportunities coming my way in the future.
