Today we’d like to introduce you to Loree Bischoff.
Hi Loree, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always say I failed my way forward—and let me tell you, it was an expensive education. But a true one.
Back in 2007, our two kids had flown the nest and I found myself at that classic crossroads: “What’s next?” While I’d been a full-time mom, I’d also been a full-time health junkie—mind, body, and spirit. I had spent decades self-studying nutrition, spiritual teachings, and wellness practices. I wasn’t just reading about this stuff—I was living it and walking the talk since the early ’80s.
So, about twenty years after my firstborn arrived, and with a couple decades of self-education on health, nutrition, spiritual studies and a fitness lifestyle under my belt, I decided to go big right out of the gate. I partnered with my sister to create a weekend event for moms called Motherhood Redefined. It was packed with speakers, breakout sessions, entertainment—the whole nine yards—with a mission to help moms build more balanced, fulfilling lives. We even booked John Gray, the Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus guy, as our keynote speaker!
The content was amazing. The marketing? Not so much. We had a tiny turnout and took a significant financial hit. That was the “failure” part.
But here’s where it gets good: one of the speakers my sister brought in was a life coach. I had never heard of life coaching before, but as I watched her work and reflected on what we had created, I realized—Wait a minute… this entire weekend has basically been a giant life coaching session for moms! That lightbulb moment changed everything.
I signed up for formal training, eventually earning certifications in life coaching, holistic health coaching, and becoming a master life coach through the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. I also trained and became certified with Tony Robbins’ program (Robbins-Madanes Training). I started coaching professionally in 2008 and haven’t looked back since.
It’s been the most rewarding work I’ve ever done.
For a time, I was even honored to serve as a life coach instructor at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. In 2011, I published my book Common Sense Happiness, which is like a beginner’s handbook for people dipping their toes into personal development. Then in 2018, I launched my podcast, We’re Talking Shift, where I coach listeners on how to level up all areas of life—mental, emotional, physical, relational, and even financial health. It’s one more way I get to do what I love: helping people take ownership of their well-being and create the life they really want.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It might sound a little unconventional, but I’ve spent the past twenty years learning not to view challenges or struggles as things to resist. Instead, I’ve trained myself to reframe them—problems become projects, and obstacles become guideposts.
When we zoom out and gain a little hindsight, we often realize that what we once labeled as struggles were actually essential experiences. They were either preparing us for something better or redirecting us away from something that wasn’t meant for us. What feels like a failure in the moment is often just a stepping stone that gets us where we actually need to go.
A perfect example? That weekend event I mentioned earlier, Motherhood Redefined. It was a financial flop—but it’s also the exact moment I discovered life coaching, which turned out to be my true calling. So was it really a failure? Not at all. It opened a door I didn’t even know existed.
Another one: when I was 21, a friend and I launched a modeling agency. It fizzled out within a year. From the outside, that might look like a classic “failed business.” But it’s how I met my husband. We’ve now been happily married for over 40 years. That detour led me straight into the most amazing future I could’ve imagined.
So no, the road hasn’t always been smooth—but I’ve come to see every bump, twist, and detour as part of the process. I don’t regret the struggles. I’m grateful for them.
Key takeaway here: What we perceived to be failures were helping us become resilient and connecting us with a something or a someone we wouldn’t have otherwise met.

What I Do:
As a life coach and holistic health coach, I help people become more mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually fit—because real transformation is rarely one-dimensional.
Coaching is a collaborative process. It’s not me handing down solutions. It’s us, working together, to create the clarity and momentum they need to make lasting change.
Sometimes that means helping clients clarify their goals and create solid, achievable strategies to reach them. Other times, we’re working through emotional roadblocks, untangling challenges, or identifying limiting beliefs that are quietly holding them back. Often, it’s about improving their overall health—whether that’s nutrition, stress management, or creating a lifestyle that supports long-term well-being.
I specialize in emotional fitness. That means helping clients get to the level of cause—the deeper root behind what they’re experiencing.
It’s not uncommon for someone to come into coaching with a specific goal or struggle, only to realize that what they’re dealing with is actually a symptom of something deeper. Once we uncover what’s really driving the issue, we can identify the mindset shifts and action steps that will truly move them forward.
Every client is unique, but my mission is always the same: to help people show up as the strongest, most grounded version of themselves in every area of life.
What I’m Known For:
I’m known for over-delivering. Clients often come to me with one goal in mind—maybe it’s improving their health, managing stress, or hitting a specific milestone—but they almost always leave with so much more.
That’s because I help them uncover what they don’t see: their blind spots. And once we shine a light on those, it opens up a whole new perspective that helps them grow in ways they hadn’t even imagined.
For example, I had a client come to me for help with her diet. But as we talked, it became clear that food wasn’t the real issue—there was deeper tension brewing in her marriage. Through the right questions and by creating a nonjudgmental space where she felt safe to be honest, she was able to see it too. From there, we shifted gears and focused our work on what truly needed attention.
That’s the kind of coaching I do—it’s about helping people reach the next level, even when they didn’t know that level existed yet.
What I’m Most Proud Of:
I’m most proud of the fact that the majority of my clients come to me through referrals. To me, that speaks volumes.
It’s my mission to be of the highest service to every client I work with, and when someone has such a positive experience that they suggest a friend, family member, or colleague work with me too—that’s the ultimate compliment. It means the work we’ve done together created real, lasting impact. And that’s exactly why I do what I do.
What Sets Me Apart From Others:
Honestly, I don’t know exactly how every other coach shows up for their clients—so I can’t compare. What I do know is that I genuinely love my clients, and I love what I do.
My coaching style is direct, but always grounded in care. It’s a well-balanced blend of heart, head, and being. That means we don’t just focus on goals and action steps—we also work on mastering emotions, sharpening logic and reasoning, and paying close attention to who they’re being as they move through life.
It’s not just about what my clients do—it’s about how they show up for themselves along the way. That’s the real transformation.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The ability to deeply listen is essential—not just to what’s being said, but to what’s NOT being said.
That kind of listening requires genuine curiosity, care, and clear perception. I think being able to tune in at that level, and then build real, authentic rapport with each client, is absolutely critical. It’s what allows me to meet people where they are, see the whole picture, and help guide them toward meaningful breakthroughs.
