Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Hatakeyama.
Liz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been extremely interested in skincare because I struggled with Acne my entire life. I selfishly got into my career as an esthetician to fix my own skin. Being someone who has struggled with aging and acne skin I am able to relate to my clients. We are all in this together! I wanted to be the esthetician that builds my clients up flaws and all. I love working on any skin type and helping my clients look and feel their best.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nope, not at all. Having acne for the better half of your life is never easy. When I was forging a career in skincare in the beginning, I was extremely self-conscious. I really believe the struggle has made me a better esthetician. I can really empathize with what my clients are going through.
Larchmont Sanctuary Spa – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in adult acne, anti-aging, and Oncology Facials. I am known for giving my clients a medical grade facial, in a very holistic atmosphere.
What sets me apart from others is my approach. I look at not just the skin but lifestyle and diet. So I really get to know my clients and then devise a plan accordingly. I also think it’s important to make my clients feel relaxed and not self-conscious since stress levels can have an effect on the skin.
I love being a part of the Larchmont Sanctuary Spa family. I get to work with master massage therapists and esthetician. We really have a team community here which I think clients can feel right when they walk in the door.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Getting to have the most amazing clients! And making impactful progress in their skin.
