Meet Liz Gardner of Surface by Liz in West Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Gardner.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started working in the makeup industry when I was 16, over the years I have worked as a salon director at Kim Vo salon in the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas as well as Christophe salon in Beverly Hills before venturing on my own. Currently, I offer services in makeup, lash extensions, waxing and facials. I love helping people feel good and look good!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I am loving having my own business vs running other businesses, I can achieve goals quickly without having to answer to anyone or delegate to anyone.

Surface by Liz – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am known for my organic facials and working with acne clients. I am most proud of being able to bring confidence to people and making them feel great about themselves.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is being happy and content with what you do on a daily basis. Not the title or the pay but enjoying what you do to the point where it doesn’t even feel like work. I used to have high paying high profile positions managing 60+ people but in the end, I was an employee and I was stressed and unhappy.
