Meet Litzy J Valencia of Lonely Fools

Today we’d like to introduce you to Litzy J Valencia.

Hi Litzy J, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started back in senior year during a video assignment for English class. The task was simple — show a glimpse into your daily life. What began as a school project quickly turned into something more. I caught myself vlogging just for fun, capturing whatever felt honest. It wasn’t anything fancy — but it sparked something in me.

As a naturally curious, talkative person, I’ve always been drawn to a raw, unfiltered connection. That led me to fall in love with film and photography — not just for the creative freedom, but for how it connects people in preserving intimacy that flees into something permanent, Working on projects and collaborating with other creatives felt exciting, like something I could actually do forever.

The funny part? Camera settings never made sense to me, no matter how many times they were explained — even by my photographer boyfriend. So I shifted to photography, hoping to learn the technical side on my own terms and discover what I was capable of — and maybe even discover a side of myself I hadn’t seen yet.

Since then, I’ve just kept going — learning, creating, and always looking forward to the next project to see who I come across.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been easy — but not because of others. The hardest part has always been the internal battle: self-doubt, overthinking, and feeling torn between passion and practicality.

What started as a simple hobby turned into something I want to do for the rest of my life — and that realization hasn’t always been comforting. Growing up middle class, it was hard to fully lean into the creative risks I wanted to take, especially when others didn’t fully understand the dedication behind building something from scratch or moving from a place like San Diego to follow my dreams.

Still, I’ve never let go of the vision. Alongside filmmaking and photography, I dream of launching my own clothing brand one day. I know that once I find my footing and lock in, there’s no turning back — and honestly, I wouldn’t want to.

We’ve been impressed with Lonely Fools, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve always wanted to create more than just a brand — I want to build a community. A place where people who are optimistic, quick-witted, and full of creative energy can come together. I’ve seen plenty of “creative groups” online, but most end up feeling shallow — all looks and no real heart.

I want to be known as the laid-back, intellectual baddie who runs a group of people genuinely passionate about what they do, and who support each other along the way.

Photography has been my way of connecting with people — capturing them at their most authentic, when they’re just themselves. Lonely Fools isn’t just about images; it’s about celebrating vulnerability, embracing the outsider, and owning who you are, no matter what.

Every moment, no matter how small, deserves to be seen.

How do you think about luck?
In my eyes, there’s no such thing as bad luck. With my grandma playing a huge role in my childhood, I know she’s up there watching over me, reminding me to keep my chin up, just like she always did. She was endlessly optimistic, even in tough times, a trait she shared with the strong women in my family. That perspective has shaped how I see the world — I know I can handle anything with patience and the support of the people around me.
