Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Tran.
Hi Lisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How I started, I graduated from CSUN with a degree in psychology in child development. I wanted to be an educator and coach basketball for 15 years. I started my master’s degree in business and eventually dropped out and actually started my business in 2013.
I started in the clothing business and was really hard to establish a clothing line. So I went back and got into the field that I was born and raised into. Which is a nail salon, I went back and got my nail license and started doing nails. I personally contacted Nail dermatitis from the bad nail products that are on the market. I wanted to make a difference and not put toxic products out there for natural nails. So I created my own products, my special product is called Gel Builder in a bottle. And has been helping women’s natural nails grow out long and strong without compromising health. And that’s how I got into the nail business and created my own product, La Par.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, not only do you financially need to have the foundation established in your business. But once you start manufacturing your own products, there’s always the quality control aspect of it. I remember when I first ordered my large quantity order all the bottles arrived cracked. I’ve had quite a few quality control incidents during my product developing stages. Definitely is always a huge lesson and lost of money. Also being a one-woman show for so long and trying to get people to see your vision. You would think your friends and family would support you. But they don’t until they see succeed. And not everyone wants to see you succeed.
As you know, we’re big fans of La Par. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Being born and raised in LA, I love our city. I love our weather I love our people I love that we can eat almost anything. Have something to do every day if we wanted to. And we have the diversity in the city. Luna what I like least about our city is obviously our traffic. And those who don’t know how to drive in our city. Other than that I love LA.
