Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Nikfarjam

Hi Lisa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I graduated from Pepperdine University and came upon an opportunity to work with an Italian luxury jewelry firm and to help develop the brand in the US. Over the course of a decade, I created and developed countless best sellers and helped curate collections for multiple markets. In 2010, I decided to go on my own and create my own eponymous brand focusing on my passion for colored gemstones and diamonds. Throughout this journey, I became captivated by the unusual organic materials I encountered, and I discovered an entire community of enlightened consumers eager to collect bold, one-of-a-kind jewelry like the pieces I was creating.

My gift is the ability to connect with these customers through jewelry. Women and men of all cultural backgrounds can express this passion for color that exists within all of us. Customization is another important aspect of what I do. We have the ability to take someone’s vision and turn it into reality, like magic, using only materials from nature.

Lately, I have been focusing quite a bit on styling for the red carpet, and it has been so exciting to see how each artist brings the jewelry to life in a unique and special way. The colors of the gowns and suits combined with the right jewelry from our collection can transform any look. Our colored gemstone cocktail rings can express a mood without saying a word.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Of course, one of the greatest challenges in my profession is protecting the intellectual integrity of my design aesthetic from being replicated by others. There have been times in my career where some of the partners I worked with seemed to be relying on my ideas to complement their own creative efforts. When launching new products into the marketplace, and when partners and affiliates have access to your concepts before they are fully exposed to the consumer audience, it can sometimes lead to other creators developing pieces that are more than heavily inspired by yours. This can dilute the impact of your work and create challenges in establishing a strong brand identity. I have had to make some difficult decisions to reassess and part ways with certain partners, in order to ensure the continued success and growth of my vision and progress.

I learned through these experiences that if the advancement of my brand makes someone uncomfortable or uneasy, it’s best to move away and disengage from that person or partner immediately.

The other huge lesson I have learned is how valuable time is. You cannot get it back and how you spend it has a profound impact on quality of life. I have learned to spend my time more wisely and to make sure I am engaging with people and partners with similar goals and ideals. The entrepreneurial journey is exciting in the sense that it’s never a smooth road. It’s a road filled with unique twists and turns, like puzzles to figure out. I love being a designer and being creative and
putting the pieces of the puzzle together in my business and in my designs. The struggles are part of the journey and learning experience.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Lisa Nik is a luxury jewelry brand that focuses on colorful gemstone jewelry accented with diamonds and laid in foundations of 18K gold. I personally hand select all of the stones for the collection and design each and every piece. The signature of this brand is a heart, it can be found in my logo where the S and the A meet and it is a recurring emblem throughout the pieces we make.

I am most well known for my bold colorful cocktail rings in the Colors and Rocks Collections and for our Asymmetrically designed earrings from the Asymmetric Collection.

What sets me apart from others is that I am hands on with every aspect of my business. I have a great team and we work closely together. When it comes to client relationships, I am there throughout the process from A to Z to ensure satisfaction. Client satisfaction is our ultimate priority as we are creating very valuable heirloom pieces that will be cherished for generations.

I am so proud of the photography and digital content that we are creating. The modern and fresh imagery that we are producing has transformed the brand and the creative process is highly spiritual. To accurately communicate the brand message through storytelling and imagery is a very delicate process and an intimate one. We are so proud of our team’s work and efforts in making this beautiful messaging possible.

I would like readers to know that we are currently LA’s best kept secret. We take on projects that we believe in and work with clients that understand our process. Our satisfaction rate is so high, most of our clients refer friends and it is a chain reaction. We have a network of enlightened, incredibly talented people that are collecting our jewels. I love the feeling of discovery that people are experiencing when they find our brand and realize that we are a local brand. It’s an organic process and one that I always wanted for Lisa Nik.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?

Apart from my family who have been my greatest supporters, I have to give credit to the very first collectors that encouraged me to push boundaries in the design process and to experiment with unconventional settings and combinations of color. These projects are what have defined me as a designer and gave me the confidence to continue pushing the collection forward to be what it is today.

As the brand evolves, I also have to thank my retail partners for the platform that they provide us with to showcase the collections and reach a wider audience. I work with so many wonderful store owners and managers across the country that present the brand with care and affection every day. Lisa Nik strives to be a brand that is able to communicate our message and values through elegant and positive service. Our retail partners offer this experience and we are very grateful for the attention they offer our clients and collectors.
