Meet Lisa Foxx

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Foxx.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lisa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
An aspiring broadcaster whose luck/timing turned into a lasting career that I am grateful for EVERYDAY! The summer after I graduated high school up in Northern California… I was on the air at the local college station… it would be almost three years of going to school, working restaurant jobs and interning at a local stations… that the stars aligned and my professional on-air career took off… working my way up from a station in Salinas, then San Jose, then San Francisco and in LA since the late ’90s… best known for my years on air with Ryan Seacrest… we did afternoons together on Star 98.7 and had a BLAST! I was crushed when he left to take over for Rick Dee’s at KIISfm… but again, grateful to have this platform to use for entertaining and giving back every day. 🙂 On the air at 104.3 MYfm… and also on daily at Star 101.3 in SF (from LA)… very active with many charities… especially passionate about helping children, animals… people who are sick… I host our public affairs programming and am INSPIRED by the charities and people I interview every week…

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haa, it’s never TOTALLY SMOOTH… that would be TOO EASY. 🙂 I guess my most recent ‘struggle’ has been adjusting and thriving to the way our culture works now… I used to ‘clip articles from newspapers’ or write stories down I heard on the news… now, the new social media culture has really changed the game for EVERYONE… there’s tons of the good/bad/ugly to see/experience from being on Instagram/Twitter/FB, etc… but I’ve needed to find ways to learn how to do it and use it to my/our company’s advantage… I used to use paper camera’s and then a flip phone… now, you’ve got kids making MILLIONS from snap chat and endorsing products on Instagram… so… learning about all this stuff at my age because we HAVE TO, has been challenging at times… but also liberating and important to stay relevant and evolving…

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a radio host… a radio personality as they sometimes say… MOST proud to use the platform of radio to entertain, inform and uplift. 🙂
