Meet Lindsay Pierce of GBY Beauty in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Pierce.

Lindsay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When you’re on the right path, things seem to fall into place effortlessly. With that said the last few years have been incredibly fast-tracked…

Prior to Beauty, I was teaching yoga at Corepower in Studio City. As much as I loved my students, I could feel an absence within my practice. In 2015, I decided to change my career path & enrolled in Esthetician school. By May of 2016, I was working as a stylist at GBY Beauty where I really learned the ins & outs of the beauty business.

A few short months later I was approached by the founders of GBY Beauty, Courtney Casgraux & Kendra Studdert, with a partnership deal. I really admire what these two women in business were building and decided to join them in expanding the brand with the very first brick and mortar location in West Hollywood. In November of 2017, I opened the doors!

2019 has been a great year for creation. In the fall I plan to launch my first CBD product line that is beauty-centrique – bridging the gap between wellness and recreation, encouraging our community to make it part of their daily beauty Ritual.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think being a woman in business automatically comes with its own set of obstacles, but there hasn’t been a day that has made me weary or question what I do. I’m lucky enough to be able to provide a fun, transformative space for women & men to come and feel their best whether that be through the treatments that we offer or by lending an ear to be heard. For most of our clients, their appointment is also their therapy session haha, we really get down to the nitty-gritty – laughing, crying, sharing life’s struggles together. We do what we love & a big part of that is human connection.

Our doors are always open, if you find yourself in the area please come in! Let’s talk about your recent trip to Europe or the photoshoot you were just on or any creative project that’s brewing. We’ll provide the CBD tea.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
GBY Beauty is a trendsetting beauty brand that champions inclusiveness, gender neutrality, & gives back to the community through beauty.

We specialize in luxury beauty treatments at an approachable price-point. Eyelash extensions are what GBY Beauty is most known for but we go far beyond the lash. We wanted to create a one-stop shop for all your beauty needs in a chic space where everyone is invited.

This year GBY partnered with The Department of Mental Services to train at-risk youth on technical beauty trade services. Upon certification, these students are invited to intern to gain on-site experience that will give them a jump start in their new career.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely the entertainer/performer type. Not afraid of the spotlight by any means, but it had to be on my terms. I was incredibly involved in school activities like music, dance, leadership, etc. – at home I loved to cook. Coming from a family of 5 kids, that wasn’t an easy feat. I believe this is where my creativity was first cultivated.

Having two older sisters that paved the way, it was important to me to create my own path. I always chose to be different. I lead by what I felt from my own personal convictions, and that’s still true to this day.
