Meet Lilibeth Linares

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilibeth Linares.

Hi Lilibeth, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am 37 years old… makeup is my life my dream… I started doing makeup at 15 years old. I started by choreographing dances for sweet 15 also known as quinceaneras. As soon as I turned 18, I went to cosmetology school I was very lucky I was asked to do a lot of their billboards for the school that I went for which was called wbi. From there, I moved to Los Angeles and started working for Chanel Lamco and Mac company also called Merle Norman cosmetics you named it I worked for them I started freelancing and my specialty is weddings. Weddings are my absolute favorite I love to see the transformation I’d love to see the reaction of when I am done to see how beautiful and glamorous they look I always tell them that I try not to hide the face I just bring out and enhance their beauty. I don’t know what else to say about myself but makeup and the beauty industry is my passion I live and breathe it…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish it was a smooth road the makeup industry is very fierce if you don’t know someone in the industry that’s the hard part. I worked for red table talk for a couple of years which was very amazing. I did a lot of independent films working in the makeup industry made me learn how to hustle everyday if not, I was eating and shopping at the 99 cent store eating cereal everyday, haha.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Other than makeup, I also do waxing personal waxing Brazilians I do lash lifts, I do brow lamination I do ear piercing nose piercing lash extensions I’m literally trying to be a One-Stop shop the only thing I do not do is color hair but my specialty and my passion and my love is weddings!!! I love them ❤️

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I wish there were something that would have helped me back then like there is now there’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok basically you can advertise yourself Instagram and Facebook was really helped me I also have my website and Google…
